Piensa en cómo se sintieron aquellas mujeres que se reunieron con los apóstoles desde el principio de la iglesia primitiva. Para ellas debió de ser muy emocionante experimentar la presencia y el poder del Espíritu Santo. Su emoción seguramente también se vio mezclada con el miedo, la duda y probablemente las burlas de las personas ajenas a la iglesia. Aun así, todos los seguidores de Jesús estaban unidos y oraban juntos a menudo. No había distinción entre grupos de personas o géneros. Todos podían tener un papel a la hora de establecer el reino de Dios en esta tierra.
Es importante recordar que Dios desea la unidad en la iglesia del mismo modo que lo hicieron los primeros apóstoles. Si formas parte de una iglesia o de una comunidad de creyentes, entonces tu presencia y respaldo son necesarios para animar a la iglesia. No permitas que el enemigo te diga que eres insignificante o que no hace falta que asistas a esa reunión de oración. Relaciónate activamente con otros seguidores de Cristo para que tú también puedas recibir ánimos.
Oración:
Gracias, Señor, por los creyentes que has puesto a mi alrededor. Ayúdame a dar lo mejor de mí para crear unión con ellos y exhortarles en su fe. Danos el deseo de orar juntos, de modo que todos nos animemos a hacer tu obra en este mundo.
Prayerful Union
They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus. ACTS 1:14 NLT
Imagine what it would have been like to be those women who gathered with the apostles at the very beginning of the early church. It would have been exciting to experience the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Excitement would also have been mixed with fears, doubts, and quite possibly the ridicule of outsiders. Nevertheless, all the followers of Jesus were united and prayed together often. Here, there was no distinction between people groups or gender. All could play a part in establishing God’s kingdom on earth.
It is important to remember that God desires unity in the church in the same way that the early apostles did. If you are part of a church or community of believers, then your presence and affirmation is needed to encourage the church. Don’t let the enemy tell you that you are insignificant, or that you don’t need to attend that prayer meeting. Actively engage with other Christ followers so that you can be encouraged as well.
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for the believers you have placed around me. Help me to do my best to create unity with them and to encourage their faith. Give us a desire to pray together so we can all be stirred to do your work in this world.
