¿Te gustaría asemejarte más a Jesús, pero te parece demasiado difícil? ¿Te das cuenta de que estás lejos de alcanzarlo?
No te desesperes, no se supone que seas piadoso por tus propias fuerzas. El carácter de Cristo es un fruto que viene del propio Dios.
Hay una razón por la que los melocotoneros dan melocotones, no manzanas; por la que los perales dan peras, no plátanos; y por la que las ramas cortadas de la vid se marchitan. Es porque la vida viene a través de la vid, y la savia que fluye hacia las ramas determina la identidad del fruto. De la misma manera, la vida de Dios dentro de ti produce el carácter semejante al de Cristo que anhelas. A medida que pasas tiempo con Él y lo reconoces como Señor, su «savia divina», el Espíritu Santo, produce las cualidades espirituales que reflejan su carácter en ti.
Eso significa que estás facultado para ser y hacer todo aquello para lo que Dios te creó, porque Él lo hace todo a través de ti. Sin embargo, debes vivir en continua unión con la vid, Jesús. Así que deja de luchar. Permanece en Cristo y permite que el Espíritu Santo reproduzca su carácter en ti.

Jesús, ayúdame a permanecer en ti para que tu vida, carácter y fruto sean producidos en mí. Amén.
Joined to the Vine
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” JOHN 15:5
Would you like to be more like Jesus, but it just seems too difficult? Do you find yourself falling short?
Don’t despair—you’re not supposed to be godly in your own strength. Being Christlike is a fruit that comes from God Himself.
There’s a reason that peach trees bear peaches, not apples; why pear trees bear pears, not bananas; and why branches cut off from the vine wither away. It’s because life is given through the vine, with the sap that flows into the branches determining the identity of the fruit. In much the same manner, God’s life within you produces the Christlike character you long for. As you spend time with Him and acknowledge Him as Lord, His “divine sap”—the Holy Spirit—produces the spiritual qualities that reflect His character in you.
This means that you are empowered to be and do all God created you to because He does it all through you. However, you must live in continual union with the Vine, Jesus. So stop struggling. Abide in Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to reproduce His character in you.
Prayer:
Jesus, help me to abide in You so that Your life, character, and fruit may be produced in me. Amen.
