Antes de la ascensión de Jesús, los discípulos le preguntaron al Salvador resucitado acerca de sus intenciones para con su perseguida nación: «Señor, ¿restaurarás en este tiempo el reino a Israel?» (Hechos 1:6). Jesús no respondió a su pregunta, sino que les informó del inminente ministerio personal del Espíritu Santo y de su nuevo papel como seguidores suyos.
No obvies la Importancia de esto. Aunque todos tenemos preguntas agudas que quisiéramos que nos respondieran, nunca debemos ocuparnos demasiado con ellas. La nación que Dios había establecido como suya estaba esclavizada. El deseo de los discípulos de ver a Israel liberado era bueno y piadoso. Sin embargo, Jesús estaba estableciendo una nueva ciudadanía para su reino eterno. Y para ser partícipes de su santo reino, lo que los apóstoles necesitaban —y nosotros también— era el poder y la presencia del Espíritu Santo.
Hay algo mucho más grande que Dios está haciendo en el mundo y quiere que formes parte de ello. Él te da la capacitación divina para conocer y seguir a Jesús con el fin de lograr los propósitos eternos que establece. Por lo tanto, despójate de las cosas menores. Confía en Él, obedécelo y deja que actúe a través de ti.

Jesús, confío en ti y te obedezco por el bien de tu reino. Amén.
A New Role
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses.” ACTS 1:8
Before Jesus’ ascension, the disciples eagerly asked the resurrected Savior about His intentions for their persecuted nation: “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” (Acts 1:6). Jesus never answered their query, informing them instead of the imminent, personal ministry of the Holy Spirit and their new role as His followers.
Don’t miss the importance of this. Although we all have piercing questions we would like answered, we are never to be overly occupied with them. The nation God had established as His own was enslaved. The disciples’ desire to see Israel freed was good and godly. However, Jesus was establishing a new citizenship for His eternal realm. And in order to be partakers in His holy kingdom, what the apostles needed—and what we need as well—were the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.
There is something so much bigger that God is doing in the world, and He actively wants you to be part of it. He gives you the divine enabling to know and follow Jesus in order to accomplish the eternal goals He sets. Therefore, let go of the lesser things. Trust Him, obey Him, and let Him work through you.
