¿Ha pensado alguna vez en cómo será el cielo? ¿Ha considerado alguna vez que el tiempo que usted pasa aquí realmente es como un soplo en comparación con la eternidad que estará con Dios en su nuevo hogar? Por esto es que a menudo digo que la expectativa del regreso de Cristo debería mantenernos viviendo de manera productiva. El hecho de darnos cuenta de que la manera de comportarnos aquí en la tierra prepara el escenario para el modo en que viviremos y seremos recompensados por siempre en el cielo debería tener un efecto purificador en nuestras vidas.
Como creyentes, somos ciudadanos del reino celestial de Dios y, por tanto, responsables de ser embajadores del Rey de reyes. Si nos mantenemos enfocados en esta verdad estaremos más comprometidos con actuar como el Señor desea que actuemos. Moraremos según las normas superiores de nuestro hogar celestial, a fin de que otros deseen ir allá. La esperanza del cielo debería obligarnos a rendirnos a la obra transformadora de Dios y servirle de manera audaz y sacrificial, entendiendo que «el mundo, tal como lo conocemos, pronto pasará» (1 Corintios 7:31, nbv).
Así que considere hoy con cuidado: ¿cumple usted aquí objetivos temporales o los propósitos celestiales y eternos del Señor? Elija la senda que perdurará. Comience ahora a servir al reino eterno de Dios.

A HEAVENLY FOCUS
The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. 1 JOHN 2:17
Do you ever think of what heaven will be like? Do you ever consider that the time you spend here is really only a breath in comparison to the eternity you’ll spend with God in your new home? This is why I often say that the anticipation of Christ’s return should keep us living productively. Realizing that how we behave here on earth sets the stage for how we will live and be rewarded in heaven forever should have a purifying effect on our lives.
As believers, we are citizens of God’s heavenly kingdom and therefore are accountable to be ambassadors for the King of kings. When we keep this truth in focus, we will be more committed to act as He intends us to—abiding by the higher standards of our home country so others will want to go there. The hope of heaven should compel us to yield to God’s transformational work and serve Him boldly and sacrificially, understanding “this world is passing away” (1 Corinthians 7:31).
So today, consider carefully: are you serving temporary goals here or the Lord’s eternal, heavenly purposes? Choose the path that will last. Begin now to serve the eternal kingdom of God.
