Pero cuando venga el Espíritu de verdad, él os guiará a toda la verdad; porque no hablará por su propia cuenta, sino que hablará todo lo que oyere, y os hará saber las cosas que habrán de venir.
¿Has afrontado alguna vez algo que sabías que era imposible lograr por usted mismo?. Casi 150 años después de que los asirios conquistasen las tribus del norte de Israel y los ejércitos babilonios llevasen cautiva a la tribu de Judá, la ciudad de Jerusalén estaba en ruinas.
El templo estaba destruido, los muros estaban derribados y las puertas quemadas. Solo quedaban unas cuantas familias, y tan solo se movían entre los montones de escombros… Un hombre llamado Nehemías trabajaba en el palacio del rey de Susa, a unas 800 millas (1,200 km) de Jerusalén.
Dios dio a Nehemías una carga por la ciudad de su pueblo. Cuando él recibió noticias sobre el estado de Jerusalén, dijo: “Cuando oí estas palabras me senté y lloré, e hice duelo por algunos días, y ayuné y oré delante del Dios de los cielos” (Nehemías 1:4).
Nehemías sabía que tenía que hacer algo. Ayunó y oró, intercediendo por los pecados del pueblo de Israel y pidiendo a Dios que le diese favor con su jefe, el rey. Dios dio a Nehemías el sueño de reconstruir los muros, era una tarea colosal, y solo Dios podía hacer que sucediera.
¡El libro de Nehemías es muy alentador!…
Es una buena lectura cuando está usted realizando un ayuno.
Cuando lo pensamos, Nehemías probablemente vivía muy bien en el empleo del rey, sin embargo, anhelaba dejar todo eso a fin de realizar la tarea que Dios había puesto en su corazón. Contra todo pronóstico, ¡Nehemías terminó la tarea!… Él escribió en su diario: “Fue terminado, pues, el muro, el veinticinco del mes de Elul, en cincuenta y dos días; y cuando lo oyeron todos nuestros enemigos, temieron todas las naciones que estaban alrededor de nosotros, y se sintieron humillados, y conocieron que por nuestro Dios había sido hecha esta obra” (Nehemías 6:15–16).
Dios no solo le mostró el camino a seguir, sino que también capacitó y equipó a Nehemías para hacerlo en un período de tiempo ridículamente corto.
¡Nehemías afiló su hacha antes de comenzar!.
El se abrió paso entre las constantes amenazas del enemigo y terminó la tarea. Puede que usted no esté reconstruyendo muros de ciudades, pero Dios ha puesto un sueño en su corazón. Ayune y ore para obtener los medios y la dirección de Él para lograrlo. Quizá esté comenzando un nuevo negocio, un nuevo ministerio, una nueva carrera o una nueva familia. Quizá haya decidido adoptar a un niño con problemas o que tiene discapacidades físicas. Ayune y ore para obtener el poder y la dirección de Dios para terminar la tarea.
Oración:
Amado Dios, tú que eres el Dios de lo sobrenatural, el que hace de los imposibles, posibles, te pedimos que a través de este tiempo de ayuno, desates tu Gloria sobre nosotros, y que podamos cumplir la tarea que tenemos por delante, en el nombre de Jesús, amén.

But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth; for he will not speak on his own account, but he will speak whatever he hears, and he will tell you what is to come.
Have you ever faced something that you knew was impossible to achieve on your own? Almost 150 years after the Assyrians conquered the northern tribes of Israel and the Babylonian armies took the tribe of Judah captive, the city of Jerusalem was in ruins.
The temple was destroyed, the walls were broken down and the gates burned. There were only a few families left, and they only moved among the piles of rubble … A man named Nehemiah worked in the king’s palace in Susa, about 800 miles (1,200 km) from Jerusalem.
God gave Nehemiah a burden for the city of his people. When he received news about the state of Jerusalem, he said: “When I heard these words I sat down and wept, and mourned for a few days, and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven” (Nehemiah 1: 4).
Nehemiah knew that he had to do something. He fasted and prayed, interceding for the sins of the people of Israel and asking God to give him favor with his boss, the king. God gave Nehemiah the dream of rebuilding the walls, it was a colossal task, and only God could make it happen.
The book of Nehemiah is very encouraging! …
It is a good read when you are fasting.
When we think about it, Nehemiah was probably living very well in the king’s job, yet he longed to drop all of that in order to accomplish the task that God had placed in his heart. Against all odds, Nehemiah finished the task! … He wrote in his journal: “So the wall was finished, on the twenty-fifth of the month of Elul, in fifty-two days; and when all our enemies heard it, all the nations that were around us were afraid and humbled and knew that this work had been done by our God ”(Nehemiah 6: 15–16).
God not only showed him the way to go, but He also trained and equipped Nehemiah to do it in a ridiculously short period of time.
Nehemiah sharpened his ax before he started!
He pushed through the constant threats of the enemy and finished the task. You may not be rebuilding city walls, but God has put a dream in your heart. Fast and pray for the means and direction from Him to do so. Perhaps you are starting a new business, a new ministry, a new career, or a new family. You may have decided to adopt a child with problems or who has physical disabilities. Fast and pray for God’s power and direction to finish the task.
Prayer:
Dear God, you who are the God of the supernatural, the one who makes the impossible, possible, we ask that through this time of fasting, unleash your Glory on us, and that we can fulfill the task that we have before us, in the name of Jesus, amen.
