ESTOY CONVENCIDO DE que nunca caminaremos en la perfecta voluntad de Dios hasta que le busquemos mediante el ayuno. Dios conoce su hambre, pero también sabe que lo que usted necesita es agua viva y al Pan de vida. ¡Pruebe y vea que el Señor es bueno! Toda tarea que Dios le da tiene un lugar de nacimiento. ¿Qué le revelará Él hoy?
Quizá esté usted en un lugar de tal desesperación, que simplemente no puede permitirse pasar por alto la voluntad de Dios para su vida. He conocido a personas que literalmente se enfrentaban a situaciones de vida o muerte. Estaban atrapadas, estaban bajo la presión de las circunstancias, y estaban bajo el ataque del enemigo. La única manera posible de sobrevivir era acercarse a Dios—de cuya mano nadie lo puede arrebatar—para oír su voz y seguir su plan.
Josafat, rey de Judá, estaba en una situación igualmente crítica. Él era un rey temeroso de Dios que se encontró a sí mismo rodeado por un poderoso ejército enemigo. La aniquilación era segura si el Señor no intervenía. La Escritura registra que: “Josafat humilló su rostro para consultar a Jehová, e hizo pregonar ayuno a todo Judá. Y se reunieron los de Judá para pedir socorro a Jehová; y también de todas las ciudades de Judá vinieron a pedir ayuda a Jehová . . . Y todo Judá estaba en pie delante de Jehová, con sus niños y sus mujeres y sus hijos” (2 Crónicas 20:3-4, 13).
Todo Judá ayunó, hasta las mujeres y los niños. Ellos necesitaban desesperadamente conocer el plan del Señor para derrotar a aquel poderoso ejército enemigo. En medio de esa asamblea de personas que ayunaban, Dios habló a su pueblo por medio de un profeta, quien los alentó al decir: “No temáis ni os amedrentéis delante de esta multitud tan grande, porque no es vuestra la guerra, sino de Dios . . . No habrá para qué peleéis vosotros en este caso; paraos, estad quietos, y ved la salvación de Jehová con vosotros. Oh Judá y Jerusalén, no temáis ni desmayéis; salid mañana contra ellos, porque Jehová estará con vosotros” (vv. 15, 17).
En medio de toda la asamblea, Dios le dijo a Judá exactamente cómo se aproximaría ese ejército enemigo y exactamente lo que ellos debían hacer como respuesta. Ellos dieron una tremenda alabanza al Señor, y Él envió emboscadas contra el ejército enemigo y los derrotó. Nadie escapó. Cuando el pueblo de Judá llegó, ¡necesitó tres días completos para llevarse el botín!
¿Quiere que Dios le diga lo que usted tiene que hacer en este momento de su vida? Ayune, adórelo y búsquelo. ¡Esté quieto y vea la salvación del Señor! Ellos ni siquiera tuvieron que pelear. Dios peleó por ellos. La batalla tomó un día, y Dios no solo los liberó, sino que también los prosperó. ¡Ellos necesitaron tres días para llevarse toda la abundancia! ¡Yo estoy preparado para algunas de esas victorias en las que se necesita más tiempo para llevarse la victoria a casa del que se necesitó para pelear la batalla! Prosiga usted, al igual que hizo Josafat en momentos de gran desesperación, y toda su familia también, quizá hasta toda su iglesia. ¡Dios lo librará y le mostrará su plan!
Seamos llenos del Pan de vida en lugar de la basura de la religión. Comience a hacer del ayuno una disciplina regular, ¡y vea cómo Dios da respuesta a su hambre!

Enfoque de oración del día de hoy: Protección
ACAUSA DE JESÚS, usted y yo podemos agarrarnos de las promesas de Dios de protegernos, proveer para todas nuestras necesidades y cubrirnos en su amor, su misericordia y su gracia. Él es nuestro El Shaddai. Él se muestra fuerte por nosotros, pero también nos lleva tiernamente hacia sí mismo y nos muestra bondad. Every task has a birthplace
I AM CONVINCED that we will never walk in the perfect will of God until we seek Him through fasting. God knows our hunger, but he also knows that what you need is living water and the Bread of life. Taste and see that the Lord is good! Every task that God gives you has a place of birth. What will He reveal to you today?
Perhaps you are in such a desperate place that you simply cannot afford to ignore God’s will for your life. I have known people who were literally facing life and death situations. They were trapped, they were under the pressure of circumstances, and they were under attack from the enemy. The only possible way to survive was to draw close to God—from whose hand no one can snatch you—to hear his voice and follow his plan.
Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him. All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord.(2 Chronicles 20: 3-4, 13).
All Judah fasted, even the women and children. They desperately needed to know the Lord’s plan to defeat this powerful enemy army. In the midst of that assembly of fasting people, God spoke to his people through a prophet, who encouraged them by saying: “Do not fear or be intimidated in front of this huge crowd, for the war is not yours, but God’s.” . . . There will be no reason why you fight in this case; Stand still, be still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you. O Judah and Jerusalem, do not fear or dismay; Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord will be with you” (vv. 15, 17).
In the midst of the entire assembly, God told Judah exactly how that enemy army would approach and exactly what they were to do in response. They gave tremendous praise to the Lord, and He sent ambushes against the enemy army and defeated them. Nobody escaped. When the people of Judah arrived, it took them three full days to carry off the loot!
Do you want God to tell you what you have to do at this point in your life? Fast, worship him and seek him. Be still and see the salvation of the Lord! They didn’t even have to fight. God fought for them. The battle took a day, and God not only delivered them, but also prospered them. They needed three days to take away all the abundance! I am prepared for some of those victories where it takes more time to bring home the victory than it took to fight the battle! Keep going, as did Jehoshaphat in moments of great despair, and so should your entire family, perhaps even your entire church. God will deliver you and show you his plan!
Let us be filled with the Bread of life instead of the garbage of religion. Start making fasting a regular discipline, and see how God answers your hunger!

BECAUSE OF JESUS, you and I can hold on to God’s promises to protect us, provide for all our needs, and cover us in his love, mercy, and grace. He is our El Shaddai. He shows himself strong for us, but he also tenderly draws us to himself and shows us kindness. Meditate on these Scripture verses today as they relate to the divine protection of our loving Father.
