1 de Samuel 10:8: “Luego bajarás delante de mí a Gilgal; entonces descenderé yo a ti para ofrecer holocaustos y sacrificar ofrendas de paz. Espera siete días, hasta que yo venga a ti y te enseñe lo que has de hacer.”
1 de Samuel 13:7-11: “Y él esperó siete días, conforme al plazo que Samuel había dicho; pero Samuel no venía a Gilgal, y el pueblo se le desertaba. Entonces dijo Saúl: Traedme holocausto y ofrendas de paz. Y ofreció el holocausto. Y cuando él acababa de ofrecer el holocausto, he aquí Samuel que venía; y Saúl salió a recibirle, para saludarle. Entonces Samuel dijo: ¿Qué has hecho? Y Saúl respondió: Porque vi que el pueblo se me desertaba, y que tú no venías dentro del plazo señalado, y que los filisteos estaban reunidos en Micmas”
Este caso de Saúl nos enseña que como la lógica de Dios no siempre se parece a la nuestra, si para algunos esperar es una mala estrategia y perdida de tiempo, para Dios la locura está en no esperar en sus promesas, a su tiempo y a su voluntad.
• Ese fue el caso de Saúl, a quien Samuel le dijo “locamente has hecho al no esperar en la orden que Dios te había dado”.
• Saúl tuvo la capacidad de esperar el primero, el segundo, y hasta el séptimo día. Pero cuando perdió la esperanza, y presionado por las condiciones externas que le rodeaban, bajo una excusa que parecía santa, desobedeció el mandamiento inicialmente dado, tomando cartas en el asunto, y desechando así la palabra de Dios.
• No nos podemos dejar presionar y desesperar por las condiciones externas, hay presiones sociales, familiares, en el trabajo, pero no podemos sucumbir ante las presiones externas, debemos a prender a detenernos un poco para analizar las cosas y no tomar decisiones apresuradas.
• “La espera a la que nos llaman las escrituras no es un estado de pasividad o de indiferencia, es un estado activo donde se están dando pasos precisos” Pastor Alberto ortega
• Así como el sacerdote Samuel llegó tarde, se puede apreciar que el señor Jesús en el caso de Martha y María para resucitar a Lázaro, también llegó tarde, pues ya Lázaro había muerto.
• Samuel se presentó después de los 7 días.
• Jesús se presentó hasta el 4 día después de la muerte de lázaro.
•• No se nos debe hacer raro si en nuestra vida parece como que Dios esta llegando tarde, hay que confiar en Él.
• En este caso Saúl trato de resolver la situación ofreciendo el mismo el sacrificio, tomando facultades que no le correspondían, y la llegada tarde Samuel causó que Saúl revelara lo que había en su corazón:
• Algunas veces Dios llegara tarde para revelar lo que hay en nuestros corazones. ¿Esperaremos en Dios aun si él llegare tarde?
• ¿Hasta cuando estas dispuesto a esperar a Dios?
• En la historia de Saúl aprendemos que esperar no es algo que debemos hacer solamente dentro de un plazo señalado, la espera no implica de ninguna manera un tiempo determinado, la actitud de esperar debe ser hasta el fin y hasta más allá del fin.
• Como Job dijo en Job 13:15 “He aquí, aunque él me matare, en él esperaré;”
CONCLUSIONES
• Esperar en el Señor no es algo que hacemos porque no tenemos mas opción, esperar en el Señor no significa que ya hemos agotado todas las demás posibilidades, esperar en Dios, lo hacemos incluso cuando tenemos otras opciones.
• Debemos esperar en Dios hasta que Él responda y si no responde debemos esperar más.
• Si consultamos a Dios y abandonamos la oración porque no nos ha contestado aun, es como si nunca hubiéramos consultado a Dios.
• Jesús nos habló de la oración de la viuda ante el juez injusto, y nos dijo que es necesario orar y no desmayar.
• Esperar no es quedarse sentado viendo al cielo a ver que pasa. El tiempo de la espera es el tiempo de la batalla de la fe del cristiano. Es el tiempo para orar para buscar al señor para que nos fortalezca para no rendirnos, para no desesperarnos y no cansarnos de esperar.
• El enemigo de la espera es cuando nos rendimos.
• Cuando nos cansamos de esperar comenzamos a tomar decisiones equivocadas, y es como decirle a Dios ya no confío en ti, ya no tengo nada que esperar y solucionare esto a mi manera.
• Los que esperan hasta el fin y hasta más allá del fin son los que obtienen la promesa.
• La espera tiene la capacidad de sacar lo que hay en nuestro interior, el tiempo de espera va a descubrir nuestros verdaderos intereses e intenciones, la espera tiene la capacidad de revelar si vamos a negar a Dios, es la que va a sacar a la luz los fundamentos de nuestra fe. Por eso en el caso de Saúl sacó la rebeldía y la obstinación de su corazón, en el caso de David la mansedumbre y humildad, en el caso de la mujer del flujo de sangre sacó determinación y fe, ¿Que fruto producirás tu a través de la prueba de la espera?
ORACION:
Amado Espíritu Santo danos la capacidad para esperar en ti , para no tomar decisiones equivocadas que aunque parecieran buenas resultaran desagradables ante ti ; ayúdanos para que este tiempo de espera haya en nuestro corazón mansedumbre y humildad , queremos ser mas como tu mi Dios , en el nombre de Jesús ; Amen!

1 Samuel 10: 8: “Then you shall go down before me to Gilgal; then I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and sacrifice peace offerings. Wait seven days, until I come to you and show you what to do. “
1 Samuel 13: 7-11 “And he waited seven days, according to the time that Samuel had said; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and the town deserted him. Then Saul said, Bring me a burnt offering and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering. And when he had just offered the burnt offering, behold, Samuel was coming; and Saul came out to meet him, to greet him. Then Samuel said, What have you done? This case of Saul teaches us that since God’s logic does not always resemble ours, if for some waiting is a bad strategy and a waste of time, for God the madness lies in not waiting on his promises, on his time and on his Will.
• That was the case of Saul, to whom Samuel said “you have done foolishly by not waiting on the order that God had given you”. • • Saul had the ability to wait for the first, the second, and even the seventh day. But when he lost hope, and pressed by the external conditions that surrounded him, under an excuse that seemed holy, he disobeyed the command initially given, taking action on the matter, and thus rejecting the word of God. • • We cannot allow ourselves to be pressured and despaired by external conditions, there are social, family, and work pressures, but we cannot succumb to external pressures, we must learn to stop a little to analyze things and not make hasty decisions. • • “The wait to which the scriptures call us is not a state of passivity or indifference, it is an active state where precise steps are being taken” Pastor Alberto ortega • • Just as the priest Samuel was late, it can be seen that the Lord Jesus in the case of Martha and Mary to resurrect Lazarus, also arrived late, since Lazarus had already died. • • Samuel showed up after 7 days. •• Jesus didn’t appear until the 4th day after the death of Lazarus.
• It should not be strange to us if in our life it seems like God is arriving late, we must trust Him.
• In this case Saul tried to resolve the situation by offering the sacrifice himself, taking faculties that did not correspond to him, and Samuel’s late arrival caused Saul to reveal what was in his heart:
• Sometimes God will be late to reveal what is in our hearts. Will we wait on God even if he is late?
• How long are you willing to wait for God?
• In the story of Saul we learn that waiting is not something that we must do only within a specified period, waiting does not imply a certain time in any way, the attitude of waiting must be until the end and even beyond the end.
• As Job said in Job 13:15 “Behold, even if he kills me, I will hope in him;”
• CONCLUSIONS
• Waiting on the Lord is not something we do because we have no other choice, waiting on the Lord does not mean that we have already exhausted all other possibilities, waiting on God, we do it even when we have other options.
• We must wait on God until He responds and if He does not respond we must wait longer.
• If we consult God and abandon prayer because he has not answered us yet, it is as if we had never consulted God
• Jesus spoke to us about the widow’s prayer before the unjust judge, and told us that it is necessary to pray and not lose heart.
• Waiting is not just sitting around looking at the sky to see what happens. The time of waiting is the time of the battle of the Christian’s faith. It is the time to pray to seek the Lord to strengthen us not to give up, not to despair and not tiredeseration and not getting tired of waiting.
• The enemy of waiting is giving up.
• When we get tired of waiting we start to make wrong decisions, and it’s like telling God I don’t trust you anymore, I have nothing to wait for and I will solve this my way.
• Those who wait until the end and even beyond the end are those who obtain the promise.
• Waiting has the ability to bring out what is inside of us, waiting will help us discover our true interests and intentions, waiting has the ability to reveal whether we are going to deny God, it is what will bring out the light of the foundations of our faith. That is why in the case of Saul he took rebellion and stubbornness out of his heart, in David’s case meekness and humility, in the case of the woman with heavy flow he took determination and faith, what fruit will you produce through the test of waiting
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, give us the ability to wait on you, not to make wrong decisions that, even if they seem good, will be unpleasant for you; help us so that this time of waiting has meekness and humility in our hearts, we want to be more like you my God, in the name of Jesus; Amen!
