La sed es una sensación que Dios nos da para que sepamos que necesitamos beber. En circunstancias normales, la solución al problema de la sed es muy sencilla: solo hay que tomar una bebida. La sed espiritual también viene de Dios. Él nos ha creado para que solo nos satisfaga una fuente: el mismísimo Jesús, el agua viva. Sin él somos estériles, estamos secos. Jesús le dijo a la mujer del pozo que, si bebía el agua que él le daba, nunca más volvería a tener sed. Estaba hablando de sí mismo.
Isaías 55:1 indica cómo satisfacer la sed espiritual. Solo tenemos que acudir a Jesús. No puedes pagar con dinero: el único coste es la rendición. Bebe el vino del Espíritu Santo y la leche de la Palabra y te sentirás satisfecha. ¿Te sientes seca espiritualmente hoy? ¿Has estado demasiado ocupada como para comer y beber correctamente, de modo que tu alma esté satisfecha?
Oración:
Jesús, perdóname por no haber estado bebiendo del agua de la fuente de tu Palabra. Necesito beber de la fresca agua de vida. Lléname hoy, Señor; sacia mi sed.
Thirst
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” ISAIAH 55:1 NIV
Thirst is a God-given sensation to let us know we need a drink. Under normal circumstances, the solution for a thirst problem is really simple. Just take a drink. Spiritual thirst is also God-given. He created us to be satisfied at only one fountain: Jesus himself—the living water. Without him we are barren and dry. Jesus told the woman at the well that if she drank the water he gave to her, she would never thirst again. He spoke of himself.
Isaiah 55:1 reveals the way to satisfy a spiritual thirst. Just come to Jesus. Money isn’t needed; the only cost is surrender. Drink of the wine of the Holy Spirit and the milk of the Word, and you will be satisfied. Are you feeling spiritually dry today? Have you been too busy to eat and drink properly to satisfy your soul?
Prayer:
Jesus, forgive me for neglecting to drink from the fountain of your Word. I need a fresh drink of living water. Fill me up today, Lord; quench my thirst.
