Al leer el Evangelio de Juan, quizás te sorprenda un pasaje extraño. Después de que Lázaro resucitara de entre los muertos, los líderes religiosos se reunieron para abordar qué hacer con Jesús. Temían que la gran multitud de sus seguidores provocara que los romanos destruyeran Israel para evitar una insurrección.
Sin embargo, el sumo sacerdote Caifás vio una oportunidad de ganarse el favor de Roma. Señaló: «No se dan cuenta de que es mejor para ustedes que muera un solo hombre por el pueblo, y no que la nación entera sea destruida» (Juan 11:50, NTV). En otras palabras, sacrificarían a Cristo para demostrar a Roma que Israel no estaba interesado en rebelarse. Pero lo más chocante es que Caifás lo dijo porque el propio Dios le había mostrado que Jesús moriría por la nación.
Por supuesto, sabemos que Caifás escuchó lo que quiso y confundió completamente lo que el Señor le había revelado. Pero el punto es que Dios a veces guiará a sus oponentes a hacer su voluntad, aunque lo hagan por la razón equivocada. Al final, el plan de salvación del Señor tuvo éxito, no solo para Israel, sino para todo el mundo. Dios también logra sus propósitos para ti. Lo que otros pensaron para hacerte mal, Él puede transformarlo en bien, siempre.

Strategic Revelation
As high priest at that time he was led to prophesy that Jesus would die for the entire nation.

Reading through the Gospel of John, you may catch a strange passage. After Lazarus was raised from the dead, the religious leaders gathered to address how to deal with Jesus. They were afraid Jesus’ enormous following would provoke the Romans to destroy Israel to prevent an insurrection.
However, the high priest Caiaphas saw an opportunity to win favor with Rome. He noted, “It’s better for you that one man should die for the people than for the whole nation to be destroyed” (John 11:50 NLT). In other words, they would sacrifice Christ to show Rome that Israel wasn’t interested in rebelling. But the most shocking part is that Caiaphas said it because God Himself had shown him that Jesus would die for the nation.
Of course, we know that Caiaphas heard what he wanted to and completely mistook what the Lord had revealed. But the point is that God will sometimes lead your opponents to do His will, even if they do It for the wrong reason. Ultimately, the Lord’s plan of salvation succeeded—not just for Israel but for the whole world. God accomplishes His purposes for you as well. What others mean for evil, He can use for good—always.
