Pues donde esté tu tesoro, allí estará tu corazón.
Si se te concediera la oportunidad de pararte frente al famoso espejo del cuento de Blanca Nieves y pedirle que te revele dónde está tu corazón en este momento, ¿qué piensas que te mostraría?
Tómate un momento antes de contestar.
He aquí algunas posibles respuestas: trabajo, finanzas, aprobación, éxito, maestría o doctorado, apariencia física, auto o casa nuevos. Y si esto te parece demasiado superficial, aquí otras ideas: tu pareja, tus padres, tus hijos, tu mascota, tu salud, e incluso siendo más espirituales, tu ocupación en el voluntariado o en el servicio que realizas en tu iglesia.
Ninguna de estas cosas tienen algo de malo en sí mismas. Realmente no. De hecho, varias de ellas son muy buenas. El problema se da cuando las conviertes en tu tesoro, en tu prioridad número uno.
Hagamos otro intento.
Si hicieras un recuento de los temas sobre los que más hablas, tus trending topics, ¿cuál estaría en primer lugar el último mes?, ¿la última semana?, ¿hoy?
¿Te la pasas hablando de tus preocupaciones actuales, de tu empresa, tu familia, la pandemia, política, deportes o de la nueva temporada de tu serie favorita? ¿Quizás de Dios?
Y es que nos dedicamos a hablar de aquello que tiene importancia o valor para nosotros porque está en nuestro corazón y en nuestra mente todo el tiempo. Tal como cuando te enamoras y sólo hablas de esa persona a los demás, o cuando presumes de ese logro que alcanzaste recientemente. De alguna manera, tu vida está girando alrededor de ello.
Esto no significa que sólo debas hablar de Dios o que sea malo tener intereses y pasatiempos fuera de las actividades de la iglesia, mucho menos que no debas ocuparte de tu familia, ni cumplir con los deberes laborales o descuidar tu salud. Pero, saber lo que ocupa nuestros pensamientos y conversaciones revela qué o quién es nuestro motor para tomar decisiones y acciones que terminan marcando el rumbo de nuestra vida. Y, tan duro como suena, estamos remplazando a Dios por aquello que en ese mismo momento se convirtió en un ídolo que se interpuso entre Él y yo.
Es muy fácil pensar que no somos idólatras, pero si existe algo que empiezas a amar más que a Dios o te descontentas con Él por no darte aquello que le pediste, ese algo es un ídolo en tu corazón.
En Proverbios, la Palabra nos insta a confiar en el Señor y a reconocerlo en cada área de nuestra vida y al hacerlo, Él se encargará de enderezar y allanar nuestro camino. Dios quiere ser lo primero y más importante para cada uno de nosotros.
Amarlo por encima de todas las cosas, con todo tu corazón, tu alma y tus fuerzas, te llevará a tener una relación profunda y verdadera con Él. Y al conocer su corazón, descubrirás cuánto quiere bendecirte y se interesa por tus cosas, porque realmente te ama.

Padre Celestial, mira lo que hay dentro de nosotros, tu conoces nuestro corazón; por eso hoy pedimos perdón por poner cosas o personas en primer lugar antes que a ti, hoy renunciamos a todo ídolo; y te pedimos que vengas y tomes tu lugar, te colocamos como el Rey y Salvador de nuestras vidas, Él amado de nuestro ser, y de hoy en
Reveal what is in your heart
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there will be your heart.
If you were given the opportunity to stand in front of the famous mirror of the Snow White story and ask him to reveal where your heart is at this time, what do you think he would show you?
Take a moment before answering.
Here are some possible answers: Job, finance, approval, success, master’s or doctorate, new physical appearance, car or home. And if this seems too superficial, here are other ideas: Your partner, your parents, your children, your pet, your health, and even being more spiritual, your occupation in volunteering or in the service you perform in your church.
None of these things have something wrong in themselves. Not really. In fact, several of them are very good. The problem is when you make them your treasure, your number one priority.
Let’s make another attempt.
If you recounted the topics you mostly talk about, your trending topics, what would be first in the last month? Last week? Today?
Do you spend it talking about your current concerns, your business, your family, the pandemic, politics, sports or the new season of your favorite series? Perhaps God’s?
And it is that we are dedicated to talking about what is important or valuable to us because it is in our heart and in our mind all the time. Such as when you love someone and only talk about that person to others, or when you show off that achievement you achieved recently. Somehow, your life is spinning around it.
This doesn’t mean that you just need to talk about God or that it’s bad to have interests and hobbies outside of church activities, much less that you shouldn’t care for your family, perform work duties or neglect your health.
But knowing what our thoughts and conversations occupy reveals what or what is our source for making decisions and actions that end up marking the course of our lives. And, as hard as it sounds, we are replacing God with that which at the same time became an idol that stood between him and me.
It’s easy to think we’re not idolaters, but if there is something that you start loving more than God or are dissatisfied with Him for not giving you what you asked for, that is an idol in your heart.
In Proverbs, the Word urges us to trust the Lord and to recognize Him in every area of our life and in doing so, He will take care of straightening and paving our way. God wants to be the first and most important thing for each of us.
Loving Him above all things, with all your heart, your soul and your strength, will lead you to have a deep and true relationship with Him. And by knowing his heart, you will discover how much he wants to bless you and is interested in your things, because he really loves you.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, look at what is inside us, you know our heart; that is why today we ask forgiveness for putting things or people first before you, today we renounce all idol; And we ask you to come and take your place, we place you as the King and Savior of our lives, the beloved of our being, and from today on it occupies the first place in our hearts, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
