Pero otros son como lo sembrado en buen terreno: oyen la palabra, la aceptan y producen una cosecha que rinde el treinta, el sesenta y hasta el ciento por uno. (Marcos 4:20)
Es importante que recibamos la Palabra de Dios. Algunos escuchan la Palabra, pero no la reciben, y no les hace ningún bien. En el capítulo 4 de Marcos, Jesús contó una parábola de un sembrador que sembró la semilla (la Palabra de Dios) en diferentes tipos de tierra, pero solo un tipo de tierra dio fruto. Los diferentes tipos de tierra representan los diferentes tipos de oyentes de la Palabra de Dios.
Se nos enseña en esta parábola que incluso aquellos que están dispuestos a escuchar no siempre lo hacen de forma completa o correcta. No escuchan con la seria intención de recibir verdaderamente la Palabra que escuchan. Son oyentes emocionales que inicialmente se emocionan, pero cuando su fe es probada, se dan por vencidos.
Cuando la Palabra de Dios es genuina y sinceramente recibida, tiene el poder de hacer un trabajo asombroso en nuestras almas. Renueva nuestra mente y nos cambia a la imagen de Jesucristo. Si no ha tenido un cambio genuino de carácter, pregúntese si realmente está recibiendo la Palabra de Dios.

Receiving the Word of God
And those [in the last group] are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word [of God, the good news regarding the way of salvation] and accept it and bear fruit—thirty, sixty, and a hundred times as much [as was sown].” (Mark 4:20)
It is important that we receive the Word of God. Some hear the Word but don’t actually receive it, and it does them no good. In Mark chapter 4, Jesus told a parable of a sower who sowed seed (the Word of God) into different kinds of ground, but only one type of soil bore fruit. The different kinds of ground represent the different types of hearers of the Word of God.
We are taught in this parable that even those who are willing to hear don’t always hear fully or in the right way. They don’t hear with the serious intent of truly receiving the Word they hear. They are emotional hearers who initially get excited, but when their faith is tested, they give up.
When the Word of God is genuinely and sincerely received, it has the power to do an amazing work in our souls. It renews our mind and changes us into the image of Jesus Christ. If you haven’t had a genuine change of character, ask yourself if you are truly receiving the Word of God.
