Josué 2:1-21; 6:17-21
Significado del nombre Rajab: amplio o ancho; Rajab es una prostituta que acoge en su casa a dos espías enviados por Josué para ver cómo es la región a la que Israel va a entrar.
Incluso los protege escondiéndolos del rey de Jericó, que los busca. Sin ser israelita, Rajab va a pronunciar una de las fórmulas de fe más contundentes de Israel: “El Señor, vuestro Dios, es Dios arriba en el cielo y abajo en la tierra” (Josué 2:11).
Ella siendo de otra creencia escucho las maravillas del Dios de Israel y creyó en que conquistaría su ciudad, donde ella tenía una reputación despreciable y no era valorada, ella creyó en la palabra de los espías y cumplió con su parte del trato y sabemos que la conquista de Jericó fue rotunda y grande, pero ella y su familia se protegieron en la casa de Rajab que era en el mismo muro de Jericó, y no solo Dios los protegió sino que vivieron con los Israelíes y ella forma parte de la genealogía de Jesús. Mateo 1:5
Salmón fue el padre de Booz (su madre fue Rahab). Booz fue el padre de Obed (su madre fue Rut). Obed fue el padre de Isaí e Isaí fue el padre del Rey David.
Nuestro pasado no determina lo que somos, si creemos en Jesús él nos limpia, nos perdona y nos lleva más allá de los que nosotras mismas podamos imaginar.
Muchas mujeres se encuentran ejerciendo la prostitución por que fueron obligadas como en el tráfico humano u otras las circunstancias de la vida como el ser abusadas, traumo sus vidas y eso las llevo a las drogas y por consecuencia de esto también a la prostitución.
En el caso de Rajab lo que usualmente sucedía en ese época, era que las mujeres no eran prostitutas por elección, sino que eran impulsadas por los mismos padres a realizar esta tarea. En esa época y cultura, donde no tenían conocimiento de Dios, había otros valores, y la prostitución se veía como un trabajo regular. No tenían la cultura de Israel y del Dios verdadero, sino una mente reprobada sin valores, y conocimientos del bien y mal. Sus dioses eran un pedazo de madera o de metal. No había una relevancia y comunión con un Dios de verdad.
Seguramente Rahab, fue obligada a ser prostituta desde muy joven. Esta mujer estaba marcada por las personas de su alrededor para vivir una vida sin amor. Con mucho sexo, pero sin amor. Tenía un destino marcado por esas personas, el cual era vivir rechazada y sola. Hay muchas personas que viven atadas a lo que los demás establecen. Escuchan todo el tiempo que son pecadores, malas personas, pobres, con mal carácter, débiles e ignorantes, y muchas más cosas que marcan su destino. ¿Cuántas personas de niños fueron marcados por la violencia, abuso sexual, abandono de parte de los padres, ser huérfanos, tener una enfermedad de nacimiento, escasez extrema a su alrededor, falta de estudios, ser la burla de muchas personas y pensar que esa situación no puede cambiar?
En el caso de Rajab, al igual que en Agar, Jael y Ruth, aunque no eran israelitas pusieron su confianza en el Dios de Israel y vemos repetitivamente en la biblia que Dios no mira el pasado, ni la raza o estatus social, el mira la disposición de el corazón hacia él.
Solo permítele a Jesús entrar en todas las áreas de tu vida y así él podrá sanarnos y restaurarnos para cumplir ese maravilloso propósito por el cual fuimos creadas y traídas a donde hoy nos encontramos.
Jesús te ama y esta con los brazos abiertos esperando que tu vengas ha buscar refugio en él.

Creemos en ti Jesús, que tu poder nos rescata del lugar de oscuridad donde estamos y nos regalas la Salvación, somos nuevas criaturas en ti, que tu amor nos dignifica y somos llamadas hijas del Rey, donde tu Santo Espíritu nos reviste de Gracia y Poder para cumplir el maravilloso propósito por el cual hemos sido creadas, en el nombre de Jesús, Amen!
Rajab
Joshua 2: 1-21; 6: 17-21
Meaning of the name Rajab: broad or broad; Rajab is a prostitute who takes in her house two spies sent by Joshua to see what the region that Israel is about to enter is like.

Matthew 1: 5
Salmon was the father of Boaz (his mother hers was Rahab). Boaz was Obed’s father (her mother was Ruth). Obed was the father of Jesse and Jesse was the father of King David.
Our past does not determine what we are, if we believe in Jesus he cleanses us, forgives us and takes us beyond what we ourselves can imagine.
Many women are practicing prostitution because they were forced as in human trafficking or other life circumstances such as being abused, I traumatized their lives and that led them to drugs and as a consequence of this also to prostitution.
In Rajab’s case, what usually happened at that time was that women were not prostitutes by choice, but were driven by the parents themselves to carry out this task. In that era and culture, where they had no knowledge of God, there were other values, and prostitution was seen as a regular job. They did not have the culture of Israel and the true God, but a reprobate mind without values, and knowledge of good and evil. Their gods were a piece of wood or metal. There was no relevance and communion with a true God.
Surely Rahab, she was forced to be a prostitute from a very young age. This woman was marked by the people around her to live a life without love. She with a lot of sex, but without love. She had a destiny marked by those people, which was to live rejected and alone. There are many people who live tied to what others establish. They hear all the time that they are sinners, bad people, poor, bad-tempered, weak and ignorant, and many more things that mark their destiny. How many people as children were marked by violence, sexual abuse, abandonment by parents, being orphans, having a birth disease, extreme scarcity around them, lack of studies, being the mockery of many people and thinking that this situation can not change?
In the case of Rajab, as in Hagar, Jael and Ruth, although they were not Israelites, they put their trust in the God of Israel and we repeatedly see in the bible that God does not look at the past, or race or social status, he looks the disposition of the heart towards him.
Just allow Jesus to enter all areas of your life and so he can heal and restore us to fulfill that wonderful purpose for which we were created and brought to where we are today.
Jesus loves you and is with open arms waiting for you to come and seek refuge in him.
