¿Quién guía tu vida? Plantéate esta pregunta y sé sincero contigo mismo. Tal vez pienses: Soy cristiano, así que supongo que Jesús me guía. Pero quizás sepas que eso no es necesariamente cierto. Solo porque eres salvo no significa que Cristo esté dirigiendo tu vida. Es más, hay muchas cosas que pueden estar dirigiéndote. La necesidad de aceptación, el control, la validación, el respeto, las posesiones, la seguridad, la tradición e incluso la supervivencia pueden determinar cómo respondes ante situaciones específicas. Así que es esencial que reconozcas si una de esas necesidades internas te está persuadiendo, porque nunca podrán llevarte a donde realmente anhelas ir.
O dejas que el Señor Jesús te guíe o vas en la dirección equivocada. Permitir que Cristo te guíe es una decisión deliberada que debes tomar por ti mismo. Debes elegir someterte a su instrucción, aun cuando parezca contraria a la razón humana. Pero seguir a Jesús siempre es la decisión correcta. Él es quien te guía constantemente de la mejor manera posible, en esta vida y en la venidera.
Oración:
Jesús, quiero que me guíes. Escudríñame y revélame qué necesidades y actitudes me controlan, y enséñame a seguirte de todo corazón. Amén.
Who Is Guiding You?
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.”
JOHN 14:6
Who is guiding your life? Consider that question and be honest with yourself. You may think, I’m a Christian, so I guessJesus is. But perhaps you know that is not necessarily true. Just because you’ve been saved doesn’t mean Christ is directing your life. Indeed, there are many things that may be driving you. The need for acceptance, control, worth, respect, possessions, security, tradition, and even survival can shape how you respond to situations. So it is essential for you to recognize if one of those internal needs is compelling you, because they can never get you to where you really long to go.
You either let the Lord Jesus guide you, or you’re going in the wrong direction. Allowing Christ to lead is a deliberate decision you must make for yourself—you must choose to submit to His instruction, even when it appears contrary to human reason. But following Jesus is always the right choice. He is the One who consistently leads you in the best way possible, in this life and in view of the life to come.
Prayer:
Jesus, I want You to lead. Search me and reveal what needs and attitudes control me, then teach me how to follow You wholeheartedly. Amen.
