Esforcémonos por conocer al SEÑOR.
OSEAS 6:3
Cuando era niño, pensaba que Dios era como un juez severo sentado en el cielo, esperando a que yo cometiera un error para castigarme. Me esforzaba por complacerlo, pero la mayor parte del tiempo no lo hacía muy bien. Vivía con el temor de que el Señor me castigara de una manera terrible.
Sin embargo, ahora conozco la verdad y, cuando pienso en mi amoroso Padre celestial, mis pensamientos son exactamente lo opuesto. Lo veo como mi sustentador, mi protector, mi proveedor y el preservador de mi vida. Confío en que me perdonará cuando peque y en que estoy eternamente seguro de mi salvación. También confío en que su deseo siempre es mi bien.
¿Cómo cambió mi percepción? Primero, comprobé todo lo que pensaba sobre el Padre con las Escrituras y descubrí quién es Dios en realidad. Luego decidí creerle. Tú también puedes hacer eso. Confía en que el Salvador te ama, provee para ti, cuida de ti, siempre está a tu disposición y tiene el control de tu vida. A medida que lo hagas, tú también llegarás a adorarlo.

Jesús, quiero saber quién eres realmente. Guíame en tu verdad. Amén.
Who He Really Is
Let us press on to know the LORD. HOSEA 6:3
When I was a child, my concept of God was that He was a stern judge sitting up in heaven just waiting for me to make a mistake so He could punish me. I tried hard to please Him, and much of the time, I didn’t think I did a very good job. I lived in fear that the Lord would chastise me in a terrible way.
But now I know the truth, and when I think about my loving heavenly Father now, my thoughts are the exact opposite. I see Him as my Sustainer, Protector, Provider, and the Preserver of my life. I have confidence that He will forgive me when I sin and that I am eternally secure in my salvation. I also trust that His desire is always for my eternal good.
How did my perception change? First, I tested everything I thought about the Father with Scripture and discovered who God really is. Then I made the decision to believe Him. You can too. Trust in the Savior who loves you, provides for you, cares for you, is always available to you, and is in control of your life. As you do, you’ll grow to adore Him too.
Prayer:
Jesus, I want to know who You really are. Lead me in Your truth. Amen.
