Isaias 9:6
Pues nos ha nacido un niño, un hijo se nos ha dado; el gobierno descansará sobre sus hombros, y será llamado: Consejero Maravilloso, Dios Poderoso, Padre Eterno, Príncipe de Paz.
Navidad es tiempo de paz y de alegría por celebrar un año más el nacimiento del Señor Jesucristo, quien es Dios hecho humano:
Juan 1:14
“y aquel Verbo fue hecho carne, y habitó entre nosotros y vimos su gloria, gloria como el unigénito del Padre, lleno de gracia y de verdad»
En esta temporada navideña queremos honrarle al recordar y reflexionar sobre uno de los títulos dados a Jesús 739 años antes que naciera: “Príncipe de paz”.
Una de las grandes promesas de Dios para la humanidad relacionadas con la paz, fue la dada por los ángeles a los pastores de Belén al anunciar el nacimiento del Mesías, el Salvador del mundo:
Lucas 2:8-15
Esa noche había unos pastores en los campos cercanos, que estaban cuidando sus rebaños de ovejas. De repente, apareció entre ellos un ángel del Señor, y el resplandor de la gloria del Señor los rodeó. Los pastores estaban aterrados, pero el ángel los tranquilizó. «No tengan miedo —dijo—. Les traigo buenas noticias que darán gran alegría a toda la gente. ¡El Salvador —sí, el Mesías, el Señor— ha nacido hoy en Belén, la ciudad de David! Y lo reconocerán por la siguiente señal: encontrarán a un niño envuelto en tiras de tela, acostado en un pesebre». De pronto, se unió a ese ángel una inmensa multitud —los ejércitos celestiales— que alababan a Dios y decían: «Gloria a Dios en el cielo más alto y paz en la tierra para aquellos en quienes Dios se complace». Cuando los ángeles regresaron al cielo, los pastores se dijeron unos a otros: «¡Vayamos a Belén! Veamos esto que ha sucedido y que el Señor nos anunció».
Jesús vino a reconciliarnos con el Padre, cerrando la brecha y pagando el precio por nuestros pecados. Y antes de regresar al cielo dijo: “La paz les dejo; mi paz les doy.” (Juan 14:27 NVI).
Su paz, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, tiene el poder de protegernos y darnos esperanza, seguridad y descanso destruyendo todo caos en nuestra mente.
Él nos invita a venir a Él a descansar
(1 Pedro 5:7).
Amigos, no hay ni una sola cosa que necesiten o quieran que Cristo Jesús no ofrezca. No hay una sola cosa en toda la eternidad que una relación con Jesús no proporcione a todos. Su poder, sabiduría, paz, amor, gracia, compasión, bondad, misericordia y fuerza es para todos nosotros. Están disponibles para todos los que le recibieren. Cada promesa, cada bendición, todo don bueno y perfecto… ¡Es todo para ti!
Oración:
Soberano Dios, gracias por venir y habitar entre nosotros trayéndonos gozo, paz y amor; gracias por reconciliarnos con nuestro Padre celestial y darnos salvación y en este tiempo especial te pedimos que tu dulce Presencia llene cada hogar con el poder de tu Santo Espíritu trayendo restauración y bendición en el nombre de Jesús, Amén.
Prince of Peace!
Isaiah 9: 6
For a child has been born to us, a child has been given to us; the government will rest on his shoulders, and he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Christmas is a time of peace and joy to celebrate one more year the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God made human:
John 1:14
“And that Word was made flesh, and he dwelt among us and we saw his glory, his glory as the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth”
This Christmas season we want to honor him by remembering and reflecting on one of the titles given to Jesus 739 years before he was born: “Prince of peace.”
One of the great promises of God for humanity related to peace was given by the angels to the shepherds of Bethlehem when announcing the birth of the Messiah, the Savior of the world:
Luke 2: 8-15
That night there were some shepherds in the nearby fields, who were tending their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. The shepherds were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior — yes, the Messiah, the Lord — was born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And they will recognize it by the following sign: they will find a child wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a manger ». Suddenly this angel was joined by an immense crowd — the heavenly armies — praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven and peace on earth to those in whom God is well pleased.” When the angels returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other: “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see what has happened and that the Lord announced to us ».
Jesus came to reconcile us to the Father, closing the gap and paying the price for our sins. And before returning to heaven he said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” (John 14:27 NIV).
His peace, which passes all understanding, has the power to protect us and give us hope, security and rest, destroying all chaos in our minds.
He invites us to come to Him to rest
(1 Peter 5: 7).
Friends, there is not a single thing you need or want that Jesus Christ does not offer. There is not a single thing in all eternity that a relationship with Jesus does not provide for everyone. His power, wisdom, peace, love, grace, compassion, goodness, mercy and strength is for all of us. They are available to all who will receive you. Every promise, every blessing, every good and perfect gift … It’s all for you!
Prayer:
Sovereign God, thank you for coming and dwelling among us bringing us joy, peace and love; thank you for reconciling us with our heavenly Father and giving us salvation and in this special time we ask that your sweet Presence fill every home with the power of your Holy Spirit bringing restoration and blessing in the name of Jesus, Amen.
