Puede que alguna vez le hayas pedido algo a Dios —quizá el deseo más profundo de tu corazón— y no te haya respondido. Así que cuando lees un pasaje como el anterior, luchas con algo de dolor. Confiaste en Él, entonces ¿por qué no ha respondido tu petición? Te preguntas: ¿Por qué Dios no me ayuda?
Sin embargo, veamos más detenidamente cómo describió Jesús este proceso de pedir y recibir del Padre celestial. Para empezar, la oración no es pasiva; es una participación activa en una relación con el Dios vivo que quiere bendecirte. Por eso, cuando Jesús dice que pidas, quiere que te involucres en cada paso del camino. Fíjate en la progresión. Empiezas pidiendo, diciéndole al Padre lo que necesitas y poniéndolo a su cuidado. Luego pasas a la fase de buscar y llamar, buscando su respuesta y obedeciéndolo en las oportunidades que te brinda.
No vagarás en la confusión ni en la frustración cuando le pidas al Padre que te muestre el camino y luego permaneces en comunión con Él. A veces, Dios no responderá de la manera que esperas, pero siempre encontrarás que te guía a alcanzar lo mejor para ti.

Jesús, tú quieres lo mejor para mí en todos los sentidos. Guíame, Señor. Amén.
Asking and Receiving
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
LUKE 11:9
Maybe you’ve asked God for something -perhaps the most profound desire of your heart-and He didn’t seem to answer. So when you read a passage like the one above, you wrestle with some hurt. You trusted Him, so why hasn’t He responded to your request? You wonder, Why doesn’t God help me?
But let’s look more closely at how Jesus described this process of asking and receiv- ing from your heavenly Father. In it, prayer isn’t passive; it is active involvement in a re- lationship with the living God who wants to bless you. So when Jesus says to ask, He wants you involved every step of the way. Notice the progression. You begin with asking-telling the Father what you need and placing it in His care. Then you move to the seeking and knocking phase, looking for His answer and obeying Him in the opportunities He brings.
You won’t wander in confusion and frus- tration when you ask the Father to show the way and then stay in fellowship with Him.
Sometimes God won’t respond in the way you hope or expect, but you’ll always find that He leads you to the absolute best for you.

Jesus, in every way, You have my best inter- est at heart. Lead me, Lord. Amen.
