Romanos 5:4
Y la resistencia desarrolla firmeza de carácter, y el carácter fortalece nuestra esperanza segura de salvación.
Perseverancia quiere decir: alcanzar lo que se propone y buscar soluciones a las dificultades que puedan surgir. Es un valor fundamental en la vida para obtener un resultado concreto. De esta forma se obtiene la fortaleza y esto nos permite no dejarnos llevar por lo fácil y lo cómodo.
Los creyentes deben de persistir en su compromiso de fe, sin importar las circustancias que existan.
Podriamos pensar qué difícil es perseverar en hacer el bien en este tiempo, ya que vivimos en un mundo donde nos hace mucha falta vivir en la verdad y la justicia; mentir o engañar se ha vuelto tan común, y se ha tornado en un elemento de fácil escape para “solucionar” lo que no queremos enfrentar. Jesús dijo: “…Yo soy (…) la verdad…”
Si Jesús es la verdad, ¿desearias caminar fuera de Él donde todo es mentira y engaño?.
Debemos mantenernos en Jesús que es la fuente de la veracidad y del poder a través de Su Santo Espíritu.
Zacarias 4:6
…“No es por el poder ni por la fuerza, sino por mi Espíritu, dice el Señor de los Ejércitos Celestiales.
La perseverancia es esa actitud de continuar cuando los demás se quedan por el camino. Es tener la convicción de que Jesús venció en la cruz y ya tenemos la victoria ganada a través de Él y podremos resistir aunque nos cueste y se nos sea difícil.
En la vida espiritual serán muchos los momentos en los que nos sentimos tentados a abandonar. La persona que se ha armado de perseverancia no contempla esa posibilidad. Ha fijado la vista en cruzar la meta y nada lo hará desistir de su cometido.
La confianza inquebrantable en las promesas del Señor te guardará de los ataques del enemigo. Por eso cada día debemos estar a la expectativa que nuestra bendición viene, conscientes que tenemos un enemigo que no quiere que la recibamos.
1 Juan 4:4
Hijitos, ustedes son de Dios y han vencido a esos mentirosos, porque el que está en ustedes es más poderoso que el que está en el mundo.
En la perseverancia te tornas resistente a los ataques que te lleguen, porque entiendes que es una lucha espiritual y que no es en contra de las personas que te rodean.
Persevera en la verdad y resiste a no dejarte llevar por las cosas de este mundo y el carácter de Cristo se forjará en ti.
Oración:
Amado Dios, tuya es la soberanía para forjar en mí un carácter de perseverancia, me has dado un espíritu de poder y dominio con el cual puedo vencer toda tentación y toda obra del enemigo, porque agarrado de tu mano soy más que vencedor, en el nombre de Jesús, amén.
Perseverance Vs Resistance
Romans 5: 4
And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our sure hope of salvation.
Perseverance means: achieving what is proposed and seeking solutions to difficulties that may arise. It is a fundamental value in life to obtain a concrete result. In this way, strength is obtained and this allows us not to get carried away by what is easy and comfortable.
Believers must persist in their faith commitment, no matter what circumstances exist.
We might think how difficult it is to persevere in doing good at this time, since we live in a world where we really need to live in truth and justice; lying or cheating has become so common, and it has become an element of easy escape to “solve” what we do not want to face. Jesus said: “… I am (…) the truth…”
If Jesus is the truth, would you want to walk outside of Him where everything is lies and deceit?
We must stay in Jesus who is the source of truth and power through his Holy Spirit.
Zechariah 4: 6
… “It is not by power or by force, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.
Perseverance is that attitude of continuing when others fall by the wayside. It is having the conviction that Jesus conquered on the cross and we already have the victory won through Him and we will be able to resist even if it costs us and it is difficult for us.
In the spiritual life there will be many moments when we are tempted to give up. The person who has armed himself with perseverance does not contemplate that possibility. He has set his sights on crossing the finish line and nothing will make him give up his mission.
Unwavering confidence in the promises of the Lord will keep you from the attacks of the enemy. That is why every day we must be waiting for our blessing to come, aware that we have an enemy who does not want us to receive it.
1 John 4: 4
Little children, you are from God and you have defeated those liars, because the one in you is more powerful than the one in the world.
In perseverance you become resistant to the attacks that come to you, because you understand that it is a spiritual fight and that it is not against the people around you.
Persevere in the truth and resist not being carried away by the things of this world and the character of Christ will be forged in you.
Prayer:
Dear God, yours is the sovereignty to forge in me a character of perseverance, you have given me a spirit of power and dominion with which I can overcome all temptation and all work of the enemy, because holding your hand I am more than a conqueror, in the name of Jesus, amen.
