Yo soy la vid verdadera, y mi Padre es el viñador. Todo sarmiento que en mí no da fruto, lo quita; y todo el que da fruto, lo poda para que dé más fruto. Yo soy la vid, vosotros los sarmientos; el que permanece en mí y yo en él, ése da mucho fruto, porque separados de mí nada podéis hacer. JUAN 15:1-2, 5
Jesús ofrece una ilustración maravillosa y estimulante. Él es la vid, Dios es el viñador y nosotros somos los sarmientos. Todos sabemos que el trabajo del viñador es increíblemente importante. Una planta nunca dará tanto fruto como cuando hay alguien que la cuida con esmero.
Dios dice que la única cosa que necesitamos para dar fruto es permanece en la vid. Es una tarea sencilla y fácil. Si permanecemos en la vid, él promete que nos nutrirá y sostendrá. También promete podarnos, pero no para que nos quedemos pequeños, sino para que podamos producir incluso más fruto.
Oración:
Padre, saber que tú quieres siempre lo mejor para mí me facilita someterme voluntariamente a tu poda. Ayúdame a permanecer en ti para que tú puedas hacer todo lo necesario para que yo siga dando frutos.
Remain in Me
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit…. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” JOHN 15:1-2, 5 NASB
Jesus gives a wonderfully life-giving illustration. He is the vine, God is the vinedresser, and we are the branches. We know that a vinedresser’s job is incredibly important. A plant will never bear as much fruit without a vinedresser as it would with one.
God says that the only thing we need to do to bear fruit is to remain in the vine. That is a nice, simple task. If we stay in the vine, he promises to nurture us and sustain us. He also promises to prune us. The pruning isn’t for the sake of staying small. It is so we can bear even more fruit.
Prayer;
Father, knowing that you have my best interest in mind makes it easier to submit willingly to your pruning. Help me to remain in you so you can do what you need to keep me bearing fruit.
