1 PEDRO 4:14
La noche de la Última Cena, Pedro le dijo a Jesús: «Señor, estoy dispuesto a ir adonde vayas, tanto a la cárcel como a la muerte» (Lucas 22:33). Fue una declaración valiente. Sin embargo, poco después, mientras Jesús luchaba en oración en el huerto de Getsemaní, Pedro no pudo permanecer despierto el tiempo suficiente para interceder por aquel a quien llamaba Maestro. Su determinación se debilitó aún más tras el arresto de Jesús, cuando lo negó tres veces.
Cuando llegó el momento de defender al Señor, Pedro se doblegó. ¿Por qué? Simplemente no estaba dentro de su capacidad resistir un ataque del enemigo. Confió en su propia fuerza limitada y fracasó.
Sin embargo, la buena noticia es que en el libro de los Hechos, Pedro fue completamente transformado porque el Espíritu de Dios vivía dentro de él, dándole poder para mantenerse firme. En otras palabras, pudo aferrarse a Dios porque el Señor se aferró a él. El poder que tienes en Cristo es todo lo que necesitas para resistir en las batallas más feroces, las penas más profundas y las esperas más largas. Lo que Pedro no pudo hacer por sí mismo, lo hizo poderosamente en el Espíritu Santo, y tú también podrás.

Jesús, fortaléceme con tu Espíritu para mantenerme firme por ti. Amén.
Stand in the Spirit
If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
1 PETER 4:14
The night of the Lord’s last supper, Peter told Jesus, “Lord, with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death!” (Luke 22:33). It was a courageous declaration. A short time later, however, as Jesus struggled in prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, Peter could not stay awake long enough to intercede for the One he called Master. His resolve was further weakened after Jesus’ arrest, when Peter denied Jesus three times.
When the time came for him to stand for the Lord, Peter folded. What happened? It simply wasn’t within his ability to withstand an attack of the Enemy. He relied on his own limited strength and failed.
However, the good news is that in the book of Acts, Peter was completely transformed because God’s Spirit was alive within him—empowering him to stand firm. In other words, he could hold on to God because the Lord held on to him. The power you have in Christ is all you need to endure in the fiercest battles, the deepest sorrows, and the longest waits. What Peter could not do on his own, he did mightily in the Holy Spirit, and you can too.
Prayer :
Jesus, strengthen me by Your Spirit to stand firm for You. Amen.
