Paz y tranquilidad. Solo pronunciar estas dos palabras ya supone un consuelo. Aunque también puede resultar desesperanzador si parece que están fuera de nuestro alcance. Ay, ¿cómo podremos conseguirlas algún día?
A través de la rectitud vienen la paz, la tranquilidad y la confianza. Para siempre. «Rectitud» es una palabra muy contundente y puede que la hayas rehuido. Si es así, hazla tuya. La rectitud no es un ideal inalcanzable de perfección o superioridad. No, la rectitud es poner a Dios en el primer lugar y vivir de un modo que le honre. A cambio de tu honra, él te ofrece la paz y la tranquilidad que tanto ansías.
Oración:
Señor, quiero vivir una vida recta. No solo por la paz que tú ofreces a cambio, ni por la tranquila seguridad que me ofrece tu amor por mí, sino porque tú eres Dios y mereces completamente mi honor y devoción.
Peace and Quiet
The work of righteousness will be peace, And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. ISAIAH 32:17 NKJV
Peace and quiet. Just saying those words together can bring comfort. It can also bring despair, if they seem out of reach. How, oh how can we claim them?
Through righteousness comes peace, quietness, and assurance. Forever. It’s a big word, righteousness, and one you may have shied away from. If so, lean in. Righteousness is not an unattainable ideal of perfection or superiority. It’s about putting God first, and living in a way that honors him. In exchange for your honor, he offers the peace and quiet you long for.
Prayer:
Lord, I want to live a righteous life. Not just for the peace you offer in return, or the quiet assurance of your love for me, but because you are God, wholly deserving of my honor and devotion.
