Esta es una razón por la que muchos ayunan a Dios. El Señor es la solución a todos nuestros problemas, y no hay nada que él no pueda hacer, dice la escritura en Jeremías 22:27 “Yo soy el Señor, el Dios de toda la humanidad, ¿hay algo demasiado difícil para mí?”
Esdras 8:21 “Entonces proclamé un ayuno allí en el río de Ahava, para que pudiéramos humillarnos ante nuestro Dios, y buscar de Él el camino correcto para nosotros, nuestros pequeños y todas nuestras posesiones”.
Esdras recibió la protección y la dirección de Dios después de buscar el rostro de Dios en oración y ayuno. Dios respondió a su oración y les dio la solución a sus problemas. Porque los ladrones y asaltantes estaban esperando para robar todas sus pertenencias y necesitaban la intervención de Dios, y Dios les dio todo lo que necesitaban para la protección, las cosas correctas que hacer, el lugar correcto para ir y la manera perfecta de ir esconder sus posesiones de aquellos que quieran robarlas. Les dio instrucciones y direcciones divinas y resolvieron sus problemas, y sus temores les fueron quitados. La razón de tal acción fue porque ayunaron y oraron a Dios por ayuda. Esto es lo que puede hacer el ayuno, tiene una manera fuerte de mover el corazón de Dios a ayudar a alguien, y cuando esto sucede, su mano que hace todas las cosas se mueva por el bien de esa persona. El ayuno completo durante siete días, que implica tomar agua o jugo y nada sólido, es adecuado para este tipo de situación o uno hace un ayuno absoluto de 3 días sin agua ni comida para la protección de Dios de la gente malvada y perversa.

Ezra 8:21 “Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, and seek from Him the right path for ourselves, our little ones, and all our possessions.”
Ezra received God’s protection and guidance after seeking God’s face in prayer and fasting. God answered his prayer and gave them the solution to his problems. Because thieves and muggers were waiting to steal all their belongings and they needed God’s intervention, and God gave them everything they needed for protection, the right things to do, the right place to go, and the perfect way to go and hide their possessions from those who wanted to steal them. He gave them divine instructions and directions and they solved their problems, and their fears were taken away. The reason for such action was because they fasted and prayed to God for help. This is what fasting can do, it has a strong way of moving God’s heart to help someone, and when this happens, his hand that does all things moves for the good of that person. Complete fasting for seven days, which involves drinking water or juice and nothing solid, is suitable for this type of situation or one does an absolute 3-day fast without food or water for God’s protection from evil and wicked people.
