Cuando leemos esta escritura que nos dice que oremos “en todo momento”, a menudo nos preguntamos: Señor, ¿cómo puedo llegar al lugar donde puedo orar sin cesar? (Ver 1 Tesalonicenses 5:17). Podemos pensar que la frase sin cesar significa sin parar, sin renunciar nunca. ¿Cómo es eso posible?
Pero lo que dice Pablo es que la oración debe ser como respirar, algo que hacemos todo el tiempo para sostenernos. Nuestros cuerpos físicos requieren respiración y nuestras vidas espirituales son alimentadas por medio de una comunicación constante con Dios.
La oración puede ser tan simple como elevar su corazón a Dios y susurrar: “Gracias”. Puede orar en cualquier lugar, en cualquier momento. No requiere que estemos en una postura especial o hablemos con Dios en un momento especial y ni siquiera tiene que ser larga; solo necesita ser sincero. Darse cuenta de esto le ayudará a orar con más frecuencia.

Praying at All Times
With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people. (Ephesians 6:18)
When we read this scripture that tells us to pray “at all times,” we often wonder, Lord, how can I ever get to the place that I am able to pray without ceasing? (See 1 Thessalonians 5:17.) We may think the phrase without ceasing means nonstop, without ever quitting. How is that possible?
But what Paul is saying is that prayer should be like breathing, something we do all the time to sustain ourselves. Our physical bodies require breathing, and our spiritual lives are fed and nurtured by consistent communication with God.
Prayer can be as simple as lifting up your heart to God and whispering, “Thank You.” You can pray anywhere, at any time. It does not require that we be in a special posture or talk to God at a special time, and it doesn’t even need to be long; it just needs to be sincere. Realizing this will help you pray more often.
