Cuando oras por ti mismo, por lo general puedes expresar lo que quieres y cómo te sientes. Pero cuando intercedes por otra persona, es mucho más difícil articular sus peticiones. Después de todo, es posible que no conozcas sus necesidades ni deseos personales. Sin embargo, Dios diseñó la oración como la forma principal de apoyar a nuestros hermanos y hermanas en Cristo. Por supuesto, Él no necesita tu participación para obrar a su favor, pero elige involucrarte para que puedas experimentar el gozo de ver sus respuestas en las vidas de aquellos que te rodean.
Así que, ¿por dónde empiezas? Comienza con un corazón amoroso y un deseo de ver al Señor transformar la vida de la persona como a Él le plazca. Después, intenta ponerte en su lugar e identificarte con sus necesidades para poder orar con eficacia.
Lo más importante es que estés dispuesto a participar activamente en la respuesta de Dios si es a eso a lo que te llama. Cuando ores por las personas que el Señor te señale, experimentarás el gozo motivador de ser sus manos y sus pies, verás su obra en sus vidas y te asombrarás cuando las bendiciones del Señor se desplieguen de manera poderosa.

Jesús, enséñame a orar por los demás y hazme de bendición para tu pueblo. Amén.
Praying for Others
Pray at all times in the Spirit . . . and petition for all the saints.
EPHESIANS 6:18
When you’re praying for yourself, you can usually express what you want and how you feel. But when you intercede for someone else, it’s much more difficult to articulate requests for them. After all, you may not be familiar with their personal needs and desires. Yet God designed prayer as the primary way we support our brothers and sisters in Christ. Of course, He doesn’t need your participation in order to work on their behalf, but He chooses to involve you so you can experience the joy of seeing His answers in the lives of those around you.
So where do you begin? Start with a heart of love and a desire to see the Lord transform the person’s life as He pleases. Next, try to put yourself in their shoes and identify with their needs so you can pray effectively. Most important, be willing to be an active participant in God’s answer if that’s what He calls you to do. As you pray for the people the Lord brings to your attention, you’ll experience the motivating joy of being His hands and feet, you will see His work in their lives, and you’ll be filled with wonder as His blessings unfold mightily.
Prayer:
Jesus, teach me to pray for others and make me a blessing to Your people. Amen.
