1 Samuel 16:7
Pero el Señor le dijo a Samuel: No juzgues por su apariencia o por su estatura, porque yo lo he rechazado. El Señor no ve las cosas de la manera en que tú las ves. La gente juzga por las apariencias, pero el Señor mira el corazón.
Vivimos en un mundo lleno de publicidad, en donde las redes sociales se convirtieron en un modo para relacionarse con el mundo.
Los jóvenes haciendo diferente clase de locuras para tomarse una foto o video que cautive y llame la atención a muchos; buscando ser famosos y ricos a través de estos medios.
Hay una tendencia de querer mostrar ante los demás lo bien que nos van las cosas, lo exitosos que somos o lo intrépida que es nuestra vida, aunque luego no sea más que eso: ‘una apariencia”.
Y esto ocurre no solo en las redes sociales, sino también en nuestras conversaciones, y en cada área de nuestra vida.
Hay una búsqueda también de muchos, que es el ser aprobados por los hombres, cuando lo más importante es el poder ser aprobado por Dios y de ahí busca tener tus prioridades en el orden correcto, tu apariencia es importante pero no es lo más importante.
En Juan 7:38
El que cree en mí, como dice la Escritura, de su interior correrán ríos de agua viva.
Lo que realmente va a reflejar quien eres tú, es lo que realmente tú estás mostrando de ti a las personas que te rodean, ellos ven como reacionas, ven los pequeños detalles y eso les da a conocer realmente quienes somos.
Como seres humanos, es fácil juzgar las cosas y a las personas por su apariencia. Nos creamos una imagen mental de cómo son, y arrojamos nuestras propias ideas y expectativas sobre ellas, sin conocerlas en verdad. Pero como dice el refrán: “las apariencias engañan”.
De hecho, Jesús dice: “No juzguéis según las apariencias, sino juzgad con justo juicio” (Juan 7:24).
En resumen preocupate primero por tu interior, por ver que es lo que hay en tu corazón; ¿Qué es lo que estás mostrando a los que te rodean?, ¿Tienes una buena relación con cada uno de ellos?.
▪︎No te compares con nadie.
▪︎Dios le preocupa primero que todo es tu corazón y con Él encontrarás la sanidad a complejos, orgullo, a la superficialidad, falsa humildad, el engaño. Él te hará libre de todas estas cosas.
Oración:
Amado Dios, vivimos en un mundo dónde necesitamos la identidad que tú nos has dado como hijos, y establecer esa identidad en esta sociedad llena de apariencias y de doble moral que te necesita como su Dios, en el nombre de Jesús, amén.
Do not be fooled by appearances!
1 Samuel 16: 7
But the Lord said to Samuel: Do not judge by his appearance or by his height, because I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by appearances, but the Lord looks at the heart.
We live in a world full of advertising, where social networks became a way to relate to the world.
Young people doing different kinds of crazy things to take a photo or video that captivates and draws the attention of many; seeking to be famous and rich through these means.
There is a tendency to want to show others how well things are going for us, how successful we are or how intrepid our life is, even if then it is nothing more than that: ‘an appearance’.
And this happens not only on social media, but also in our conversations, and in every area of our life.
There is also a search for many, which is to be approved by man, when the most important thing is to be able to be approved by God and from there, seek to have your priorities in the correct order, your appearance is important but it is not the most important thing.
In John 7:38
Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture says, rivers of living water will flow from within him.
What is really going to reflect who you are is what you are really showing about yourself to the people around you, they see how you react, they see the little details and that makes them really know who we are.
As human beings, it is easy to judge things and people by their appearance. We create a mental image of what they are like, and we throw our own ideas and expectations on them, without really knowing them. But as the saying goes: “appearances can be deceiving”.
In fact, Jesus says, “Judge not according to appearances, but judge with righteous judgment” (John 7:24).
In short, first worry about your interior, to see what is in your heart; What are you showing to those around you? Do you have a good relationship with each of them?
▪︎Don’t compare yourself to anyone.
▪︎God cares first that everything is your heart and with Him you will find healing complexes, pride, superficiality, false humility, deception. He will set you free from all these things.
Prayer:
Dear God, we live in a world where we need the identity that you have given us as children, and establish that identity in this society full of appearances and double standards that needs you as its God, in the name of Jesus, amen.
