Mateo 14:29-31
Y él dijo: Ven. Y descendiendo Pedro de la barca, andaba sobre las aguas para ir a Jesús. Pero al ver el fuerte viento, tuvo miedo; y comenzando a hundirse, dio voces, diciendo: ¡Señor, sálvame! Al momento Jesús, extendiendo la mano, asió de él, y le dijo: ¡Hombre de poca fe! ¿Por qué dudaste?
Los apóstoles tenían temor a causa de la gran tormenta y el Señor viene hacia ellos caminando sobre las aguas, los apóstoles sorprendidos y con temor de ver que alguien que caminaba sobre las aguas pensaron que era un fantasma, no el Señor; Pedro le habla y le pide que declare la palabra que él también pueda caminar sobre las aguas e ir hacia él, si era el Señor.
Jesús le da la palabra y Pedro sale del bote a caminar sobre las aguas, pero estando ya caminando sobre las aguas retiro su mirada de Jesús y miró hacia las olas de las aguas, le entró un gran temor y empezó a hundirse.
Podríamos mucho identificarnos con este pasaje de la biblia, en cómo actúa Pedro.
Muchos de nosotros creemos la palabra de Dios, le amamos y le servimos pero en nuestro transcurrir del cada día, vienen situaciones difíciles que nos toman muchas de ellas por sorpresa y sentimos temor, pareciera que se nos olvidara quien es nuestro Padre Celestial y la palabra que nos ha dado.
Se nos olvida que nuestro caminar en la vida no es por vista, es por fe.
2 Corintios 5:7
“(porque por fe andamos, no por vista)”.
En el devocional de ayer aprendimos que Dios siempre esta con nosotros, primer punto que debe estar claro y establecido en nosotros.
Segundo, el creer que Él es fiel.
Tercero, aprendemos a no quitar los ojos de Él, de Jesús.
A pesar de los problemas que se levanten buscaras siempre al Señor porque si no lo haces, terminaras desesperado y hundiéndote en la cantidad de situaciones que se presentan.
Oración:
Espíritu Santo muchas veces sentimos que las aguas de problemas nos ahogan y perdemos nuestro enfoque en ti mi Jesús; hoy nos revestimos de tu amor, dominio propio y nuestra fe activada para que esas olas de temores en nuestras vidas que nos hacen flaquear y caer desaparezcan porque hemos aprendido a caminar por fe y no por vista, en el nombre de Jesús. ¡Amén!
Don’t take your eyes off of Him
Matthew 14: 29-31
And he said: Come. And Peter getting out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But seeing the strong wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me! At the moment Jesus, reaching out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him: Man of little faith! Why did you hesitate?
The apostles were afraid because of the great storm and the Lord comes to them walking on the water, the apostles surprised and afraid to see that someone who walked on the water thought that he was a ghost, not the Lord; Peter speaks to him and asks him to declare the word that he too can walk on the water and go towards him, if he was the Lord.
Jesus gives him the word and Peter leaves the boat to walk on the water, but while he is already walking on the water, he withdraws his gaze from Jesus and looked at the waves of the water, he became very afraid and began to sink.
We could very much identify with this passage of the bible, in how Peter acts.
Many of us believe the word of God, we love him and serve him but in our passing of each day, difficult situations come that take many of them by surprise and we feel fear, it seems that we forget who our Heavenly Father is and the word that he has given us.
We forget that our walk in life is not by sight, it is by faith.
2 Corinthians 5: 7
“(because by faith we walk, not by sight)”.
In yesterday’s devotional we learned that God is always with us, the first point that must be clear and established in us.
Second, to believe that He is faithful.
Third, we learn not to take our eyes off Him, on Jesus.
Despite the problems that arise, you will always seek the Lord because if you don’t, you will end up desperate and sinking into the number of situations that arise.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit many times we feel that the waters of problems drown us and we lose our focus on you my Jesus; Today we clothe ourselves with your love, self-control and our activated faith so that those waves of fear in our lives that make us falter and fall disappear because we have learned to walk by faith and not by sight, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
