Pues considero que los sufrimientos de este tiempo presente no son dignos de ser comparados con la gloria que nos ha de ser revelada.
ROMANOS 8:18
A veces, la adversidad a la que te enfrentas es tan duradera, dolorosa y profunda que tu respuesta a cualquier tipo de aliento puede ser: «Para ti es fácil decir eso». ¿Cómo podría alguien saber la profundidad de la desesperación que sientes? Los devocionales, los sermones y los libros sobre pruebas tienden a simplificar demasiado cuando se trata del tema del sufrimiento, y me doy cuenta de que lo que enfrentas puede ser realmente desgarrador. Pero eso no cambia el hecho de que Dios quiere trabajar a través de la adversidad para avanzar en tu crecimiento espiritual.
Sabemos que el Señor podría eliminar todas las dificultades de nuestras vidas con solo una palabra, algún día podría hacerlo por ti. Sin embargo, las Escrituras nos dicen que cuando Él decide no hacerlo es porque más importante que nuestra comodidad, bienestar y placer es nuestra transformación para llegar a ser semejantes a Cristo. El Señor está en el proceso de enseñarnos acerca de sus virtudes: su fidelidad, su bondad, su compasión y su santidad. Además, está derribando todo aquello en nosotros en lo que erróneamente nos hemos erigido como dios en lugar de Él. Es doloroso; pero el proceso es esencial si queremos madurar en el Señor y representarlo ante los demás.
Oración:
Jesús, me someto a ti. Haz lo que consideres mejor en mí. Amén.
Not Easy, but Worthwhile
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. ROMANS 8:18
At times, the adversity you face will be so long-lasting, painful, and profound that your response to any type of encouragement may be, “That’s easy for you to say.” How could anyone possibly know the depth of the despair you feel? Devotions, sermons, and books about trials tend to oversimplify when it comes to the subject of suffering, and I realize that what you face may be truly heart-wrenching. But that doesn’t change the fact that God wants to work through the adversity to advance your spiritual growth.
We know the Lord could erase all difficulty from our lives with just a word—and someday He may do so for you. However, Scripture tells us that when He chooses not to it’s because more important than our ease, comfort, and pleasure is our transformation into Christ’s likeness. The Lord is in the process of teaching us about Himself: His faithfulness, goodness, compassion, and holiness. He is also breaking down all the places in us where we have erroneously set ourselves up as god instead of Him. It is painful. But the process is essential if we are to mature in the Lord and represent Him to others.
Prayer:
Jesus, I submit to You. Do as You see best in me. Amen.
