Hoy podríamos preguntarnos: ¿Puede el Padre reavivar el gozo y significado de mi vida? ¿Puede realmente sanarme de todos mis remordimientos? Por supuesto que sí. Podemos sentirnos mal con nosotros mismos, pero aun así recibir el perdón de Cristo. Después de todo, recordemos lo que Pablo declaró respecto a sí mismo: «Jesucristo vino al mundo para salvar a los pecadores, siendo yo el peor de ellos» (1 Timoteo 1:15, PDT). ¿Por qué pensaba Pablo esto de sí mismo? Porque había perseguido a la iglesia y castigado a los seguidores de Jesús. Para él, no había peor delito que atacar al pueblo y la obra de Dios. Pero Pablo también añadió: «Dios tuvo misericordia de mí, para que Cristo Jesús me usara como principal ejemplo de su gran paciencia aun con los peores pecadores» (1 Timoteo 1:16, NTV). El apóstol afirma que cuando nos sentimos mal con nosotros mismos podemos mirar la misericordia y la gracia que Jesús le mostró y darnos cuenta de que Cristo también puede cambiar las condiciones que nos rodean. Así que reciba el perdón de Jesús. Comprenda que no solo es imperativo que se perdone usted mismo, sino que también debe dejar atrás sus antiguos hábitos y aceptar la nueva senda que Dios le tiene, porque ese es el camino hacia la verdadera restauración, tal como le sucedió a Pablo.

Jesús, gracias por tu magnífica misericordia y restauración. Amén.
RESTORATIVE MERCY
I was shown mercy . . . and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant. 1 TIMOTHY 1:13–14
Today you may be wondering, Can the Father bring joy and meaning back to my life? Can He really heal me of all my regrets? Absolutely He can. You may feel low about yourself, but we all need Christ’s forgiveness. After all, remember what Paul said about himself: “Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst” (1 Timothy 1:15 NIV). Why did Paul think of himself in this way? Because he’d persecuted the church, punishing those who followed Jesus. To him, there could be no worse crime than attacking the people and work of God.
Yet Paul also said this: “God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners” (1 Timothy 1:16 NLT). Paul was saying that when you feel low about yourself, you can look at the mercy and grace Jesus showed him and realize that Christ can turn your life around too.
So receive Jesus’ forgiveness. And realize that it’s not only imperative to forgive yourself, but you must also leave your former ways behind and accept God’s new path for you. Because that’s the path to true restoration—just as Paul received it.
