Hay personas a quienes se les dan fatal los nombres, especialmente si son tus padres: seguro que alguna vez se han dirigido a ti mencionando todos los nombres de tu familia (¡e incluso el del perro!)… ¡y ellos son quienes te pusieron el nombre!
Puede que miles de personas tengan tu nombre o puede que quizá haya solo un puñado. Sea como sea, esto a Dios no le afecta: cuando te acercas a él, el Señor no intenta adivinar tu nombre (a ver si, por suerte, acaba dando con él). Él sabe exactamente quién eres y por qué acudes a él. Sabe por qué llevas tanto tiempo alejada de él. Conoce tu necesidad más profunda, tú herida más dolorosa y tus pensamientos más oscuros. Y, aun así, te ama.

Dios Padre, me conoces de verdad. Y, aunque me conoces, sigues amándome. Gracias por el corazón que tienes por mí.
He Knows Me by Name
Lord, you know everything there is to know about me. You’ve examined my innermost being With your loving gaze. There are people who are terrible with names. And then there are parents. They address you by every name in the household—quite possibly including the dog—all while looking you in the eye… and they gave you the name in the first place!
There may be thousands of people with your name, or there might just be a handful. Either way, it makes no difference to God. He doesn’t take a stab in the dark when you are approaching him, guessing a name and hoping he gets it right. He knows exactly who you are and why you are coming to him. He knows why you’ve stayed away for so long. He knows your deepest need, your most painful wound, and your darkest thoughts. And still he loves you.
Prayer:
Father God, you really do know me. And in knowing me, you still love me. Thank you for your heart toward me.
