«Vengan en pos de Mí, y Yo los haré pescadores de hombres».

Mientras los discípulos trabajaban con sus redes en el mar de Galilea, lo más probable es que no tuvieran ni idea de todo lo que Jesús les tenía reservado. Sin embargo, reconocieron la autoridad de Cristo y se sintieron obligados a obedecerlo porque «dejando al instante las redes, lo siguieron» cuando los llamó (Mateo 4:20).
Aunque es probable que Pedro y Andrés hubieran aprendido acerca de Yahvé a lo largo de sus vidas, probablemente nunca soñaron que Él los elegiría para su misión más importante. De hecho, caminar con el Dios encarnado iba más allá de lo que hubieran podido imaginar. No podían prever las bendiciones y pruebas que depararía el futuro, ni cómo el Salvador obraría a través de ellos para llevar el evangelio al mundo. Pero Jesús lo hizo porque Pedro y Andrés le obedecieron.
Este es un patrón que Dios duplica en tu vida. A medida que madures en Cristo, puede que te cueste poner en práctica sus instrucciones. Pero recuerda que el Señor tiene un futuro planeado para ti que requiere que des los pasos de obediencia que Él pone delante de ti. Así como transformó a Pedro y Andrés de pescadores a cambiadores del mundo, quiere hacer lo mismo contigo. Y lo que Él logrará a través de ti ciertamente sobrepasará los límites de tu imaginación.

Jesús, te obedeceré. Obra a través de mí, Señor. Amén.
Beyond Imagination
“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” MATTHEW 4:19
While the disciples labored with their nets at the Sea of Galilee, they most likely had no idea of all the things that Jesus had in store for them. However, they acknowledged Christ’s authority and felt compelled to obey Him because “immediately they left their nets and followed Him” when He called (Matthew 4:20).
Although it’s likely that Peter and Andrew had learned about Yahweh throughout their lives, they probably never dreamed He’d choose them for His most important mission. Indeed, walking with the incarnate God was beyond what they could have imagined. They couldn’t possibly have anticipated the blessings and trials of the future or how the Savior would work through them to take the gospel to the world. But Jesus did so because Peter and Andrew obeyed Him.
This is a pattern God replicates in your life. As you mature in Christ, you may struggle to put His instructions into practice. But remember that the Lord has a future planned for you that requires you to take the steps of obedience that He sets before you. Just as He transformed Peter and Andrew from fishermen into world-changers, He wants to do the same for you as well. And what He’ll accomplish through you will certainly be beyond imagination.
