Su nombre la forma femenina de “Señor”,
Significa en Arameo DAMA, SEÑORA
Fue la mujer de Betania, hermana de Maria y Lázaros, vivían los tres en un pueblo llamado Betania a 4km de Jerusalén. Todo parece señalar que era la mayor de la familia, porque fue ella quien recibió en su casa al Señor. Lucas 10:38
Vamos a ver tres enseñanzas que nos hablan de Marta en los siguientes dias
1.La Cena en la casa de Marta (Lucas 10:38-42)
38 Marta recibió, acogió y abrió las puertas de su casa a Jesús y sus apóstoles, sin contar quizás con las mujeres que le seguían.
Seguramente no solo les dió de comer sino también alojamiento para que pudieran descansar.
Marta es un hermoso ejemplo de una mujer hospitalaria, que disponía de su hogar y bienes al servicio del Señor.
¿Cómo reaccionarías tú, si vieneran a tu casa un grupo de personas buscando comida y alojamiento y sin avisar? ¿les darías una excusa, de que no puedo, no estoy preparada, etc?
La Biblia nos habla de que debemos estar dispuetas a ser hospitalarias cuando se nos ofrezca la oportunidad. ¿Es tu casa, una casa abierta a los hermanos? ¿Es tu casa, un casa donde la gente se siente cómoda y a gusto? Nuestro hogar no debe ser una fortaleza impenetrable donde cueste entrar, sino un lugar accesible y apacible donde aquellos que tienen necesidad, encuentren refugio.
La Actitud de Marta
Martha tenía un gran corazón, y era una mujer generosa, lo demuestra al recibir al Señor y sus discípulos, pero tenía un problema, Estaba muy ocupada preparando la comida o la cena para sus invitados, estaba tan afanada y tan turbada, que se enfadó cuando vió que Maria su hermana se sentó a los pies de Jesús para escucharle y no le ayudó en los que haceres. No es el servicio de Marta lo que esta mal, sino su actitud en el servicio. Marta no hacia nada malo en servir a los invitados, habia que preparar comida para ellos, pero su actitud en el servicio era incorrecto.
Marta se enfada con su hermana porque no la ayuda y se queja a Jesús de que no se preocupa por ella, y se lo dice publicamente y con enojo (v.40)
Jesús no le contesto con enfado, al contrario, su respuesta fue amable y llena de gracia. Mostro compasion por ella. La llama dos veces por su nombre “Marta, Marta”, es a la única mujer que Jesús la llama asi, mostrando paciencia y amor. Jesús le quizo hacer entender que aunque era necesario preparar comida para los invitados, su enfado era injustificado, y defendió la decisión de Maria como la mejor elección (v.42). La amonestó de estar demasiado ocupada con las cosas externas (v.41), ya que esa actitud puede ser un estorbo para no estar en comunión con el Señor.
Por lo tanto déjame que te pregunte ¿Estás tan ocupada con la casa, el marido, los hijos, el trabajo, incluso con actividades de la iglesia, que no tines tiempo para orar y estar en comunión con Dios? No debemos darle demasiada importancia a las cosas secundarias, que nos quiten de vista lo más importante. Cuidado con el peligro de estar demasiado ocupadas como le pasó a Marta, que descuidemos lo más importante. Busquemos equilibrio entre el servicio a Dios y nuestra relación con él. Si todo esto te impide acercarte más al Señor, es que no has escogido la buena parte, Debemos saber priorizar en nuestras vidas. A veces tenemos que elegir, no entre lo bueno y lo malo, eso es fácil de distinguir, sino entre lo bueno y lo mejor.
Oración
Señor tuya es la gloria y el honor, te damos gracias por la enseñanza que nos das a través de Marta, que seamos esa mujeres llenas de tu amor y bondad, que acoge al necesitado, que no cerramos las puertas de nuestro hogar, ni de nuestro corazón. Te pedimos Espiritu de Dios que nos des la sabiduria para poder escoger y saber elegir entre lo bueno y lo mejor. En el nombre de Cristio Jesus. Amén

Her name is the feminine form of “Lord”,
It means in Aramaic LADY, LADY
She was the wife of Bethany, sister of Mary and Lazarus, the three of them lived in a town called Bethany 4km from Jerusalem. Everything seems to indicate that she was the oldest of the family, because it was she who received the Lord in her house. Luke 10:38
We are going to see three teachings that tell us about Martha in the following days
1. The Supper at Martha’s house (Luke 10: 38-42)
38 Martha received, welcomed, and opened the doors of her house to Jesus and her apostles, perhaps not counting the women who followed him.
She surely she not only gave them food but also accommodation so they could rest.
Marta is a beautiful example of a hospitable woman, who had her home and her goods at the service of the Lord.
How would you react if a group of people came to your house looking for food and accommodation and without warning? Would you give them an excuse, that I can’t, I’m not ready, etc?
The Bible tells us that we should be willing to be hospitable when the opportunity is offered. Is your house, a house open to the brothers? Is your house, a house where people feel comfortable and at ease? Our home should not be an impenetrable fortress where it is difficult to enter, but an accessible and peaceful place where those in need find refuge.
Martha’s Attitude
Martha had a big heart, and was a generous woman, she shows it when she received the Lord and his disciples, but she had a problem, she was very busy preparing food or dinner for her guests, she was so busy and so upset that she got angry when he saw that his sister Maria sat at Jesus’ feet to listen to him and did not help him with what to do. It is not Martha’s service that is wrong, but her attitude in serving her. Martha did nothing wrong in serving the guests, she had to prepare food for them, but her attitude in serving her was incorrect.
Martha is angry with her sister because he does not help her and complains to Jesus that he does not care about her, and tells her publicly and with anger (v. 40)
Jesus did not answer her with anger, on the contrary, her response was kind and full of grace. He showed compassion for her. He calls her twice by her name “Martha, Martha”, she is the only woman that Jesus calls her like that, showing patience and love. Jesus wanted him to understand that although it was necessary to prepare food for the guests, her anger was unjustified, and he defended Maria’s decision as her best choice (v.42). He admonished her to be too busy with external things (v. 41), since that attitude can be a hindrance to not being in communion with the Lord.
So let me ask you, are you so busy with home, husband, children, work, even church activities, that you don’t have time to pray and commune with God? We should not give too much importance to secondary things, to take the most important out of sight. Beware of the danger of being too busy as it happened to Marta, that we neglect the most important thing. Let’s find a balance between serving God and our relationship with him. If all this prevents you from getting closer to the Lord, it is that you have not chosen the good part, We must know how to prioritize in our lives. Sometimes we have to choose, not between the good and the bad, that is easy to distinguish, but between the good and the best.
Prayer:
Your Lord is the glory and the honor, we thank you for the teaching that you give us through Martha, that we are those women full of your love and kindness, that welcomes the needy, that we do not close the doors of our home, or of our heart. We ask the Spirit of God to give us the wisdom to be able to choose and know how to choose between the good and the best. In the name of Christ Jesus. Amen
