¿Me he sentido tentado a beber siendo menor de edad? “Vamos, toma un sorbo”. “Un sorbo no te hará daño”. “No sabes lo que te estás perdiendo”. “No eres divertido.” Todas esas son cosas que puedes escuchar cuando tus amigos descubren que no quieres beber con ellos. Es posible que tengas la tentación de probar un sorbo de alcohol sólo para ver a qué sabe. A veces, un sorbo es suficiente para querer más. Existen graves consecuencias físicas e incluso graves consecuencias legales por beber siendo menor de edad. Podrías terminar con una resaca desagradable a la mañana siguiente y sentirte mal del estómago.
Si estás en una fiesta con tus amigos y puedes conducir, no bebas y luego conduzcas. Si bebes y conduces, la policía te atrapará y probablemente terminarás en el centro de menores. O podría sufrir un accidente mortal y posiblemente lastimarse o matarse a sí mismo, a sus amigos o a otra persona inocente. Si sufres un accidente, podrías destrozar el coche que conduces.
La próxima vez que sientas la tentación de beber mientras eres menor de edad, recuerda las consecuencias. Dios no quiere que te emborraches. Él quiere que estés lleno de Su Espíritu Santo. La próxima vez que sienta la tentación de beber, diga esta oración: “Señor, por favor ayúdame a nunca beber mientras conduzco. Ayúdame a mantenerme alejado del alcohol hasta que tenga edad suficiente para beber”.

Have I been tempted to drink when I’m underage? “Come on, have a sip.” “One sip won’t hurt you.” “You don’t know what you’re missing.” “You’re no fun.” Those are all things that you can hear when your friends find out you don’t want to drink with them. You may be tempted to try a sip of alcohol just to see what it tastes like. Sometimes one sip is all it takes to want more of it. There are serious physical and even severe legal consequences for drinking underage. You could end up with a nasty hangover the next morning and feel sick to your stomach.
If you’re at a party with your friends and you’re able to drive, please don’t drink and then drive. If you drink and drive, you will get caught by the cops and probably end up in the juvenile hall. Or you could get into a deadly accident and possibly hurt or kill yourself, your friends, or another innocent person. If you get into an accident, you could wreck the car you’re driving. The next time you’re tempted to drink underage, remember the consequences. God doesn’t want you to get drunk. He wants you to be filled with His Holy Spirit.
The next time you’re tempted to drink, say this prayer: “Lord, please help me to never drink and drive. Help me to stay away from alcohol until I’m old enough to drink.”
