1 Reyes 17:1-7
Entonces Elías tisbita, que era de los moradores de Galaad, dijo a Acab: Vive Jehová Dios de Israel, en cuya presencia estoy, que no habrá lluvia ni rocío en estos años, sino por mi palabra. Y vino a él palabra de Jehová, diciendo: Apártate de aquí, y vuélvete al oriente, y escóndete en el arroyo de Querit, que está frente al Jordán. Beberás del arroyo; y yo he mandado a los cuervos que te den allí de comer. Y él fue e hizo conforme a la palabra de Jehová; pues se fue y vivió junto al arroyo de Querit, que está frente al Jordán. Y los cuervos le traían pan y carne por la mañana, y pan y carne por la tarde; y bebía del arroyo. Pasados algunos días, se secó el arroyo, porque no había llovido sobre la tierra”.
El tiempo en que sucede este relato, el pueblo de Israel se habia desviado de los caminos de Dios y habia mucha perversión; pero aparece un hombre desconocido, aunque muy dedicado a Dios; y su mensaje era Dios vive, Dios es el Rey Soberano y la Palabra de Dios es verdad.
*Y el primer decreto que el hace a Acab, rey de Israel, de este tiempo, es: “vive Jehova Dios de Israel”, aclarando que el Dios de Israel es Jehova, no Baal al que ellos adoraban, al que llamaban Dios del trueno o lluvia.
* El segundo decreto: “en cuya presencia estoy”, el reconoce la autoridad indiscutible de Dios sobre su vida y testifica a su consciencia de la presencia divina.
*El tercer decreto: “no habrá lluvia ni rocío en estos años, sino por mi palabra”. Esto indica que Elías tenía un conocimiento previo de la Palabra de Dios. La conocía tan bien que la Palabra de Dios era su palabra.
La sequía severa comenzó cuando Elías la declaró como una palabra de juicio por haberse alejado de Dios y como una señal del poder y la soberanía de Dios.
El ministerio de Elías acababa de comenzar. Había experimentado el poder de Dios, y luego la palabra de Dios viene a él para separarlo de todo y esperar por la próxima orden que le daria Dios ¿Por qué tiene que pasar tiempo ahí cuando quiere que el avivamiento empiece ya?
El arroyo de Querit (hebreo) no era un riachuelo cualquiera. Su ubicación precisa es incierta, pero se encontraba en algún lugar en los rocosos desfiladeros de Galaad, al este del río Jordán. De acuerdo con Strong, el nombre (hebreo) se deriva de la raíz verbal primaria, (hebreo), que literalmente significa “cortar (por separado); con la implicación de destruir o consumir”. Es el mismo verbo utilizado para “cortar un pacto” al cortar carne y pasar en medio de los pedazos o cortar la carne como en la circuncisión. Gesenius dice que Querit significa “separación”. Por lo tanto, el nombre describe un lugar donde la roca ha sido dividida (separada) para dar lugar a la corriente de agua. Era un lugar de quebrantamiento, un lugar de separación como preparación al fluir del río. La palabra en hebreo para arroyo (hebreo) representa con mayor precisión a un río temporal que fluye con gran fuerza en el invierno o la temporada de lluvias, pero que deja canales y barrancos secos en el verano. Entonces, la palabra puede referirse a un arroyo o torrente con corriente o a un cauce del río seco.
El Salmo 114:7,8 dice:
“A la presencia de Jehová tiembla la tierra, a la presencia del Dios de Jacob, el cual cambió la peña en estanque de aguas, y en fuente de aguas la roca”.
Elías tuvo que atravesar por un periodo de quebrantamiento y separación en la presencia del Señor antes de que la lluvia pudiera caer, que el agua pudiera fluir, y que él pudiera pastorear el avivamiento.
No te sorprendas si despues que ves y vives el poder de Dios, pases por un tiempo donde necesitas ser confrontado con la realidad, donde debes obedecer a Dios, aunque no entiendes porque debes vivir esas circunstancias, en el lugar que estás, Dios nos ama y para que estemos preparados para el siguiente nivel, nos envía a ciertos lugares donde vamos a tener una transformación de nuestro carácter, en un verdadero quebrantamiento y
separación en la presencia del Señor antes de que la lluvia pudiera caer, que el agua pudiera fluir, y que él pudiera pastorear el avivamiento.
No te sorprendas si despues que ves y vives el poder de Dios, pases por un tiempo donde necesitas ser confrontado con la realidad, donde debes obedecer a Dios, aunque no entiendes porque debes vivir esas circunstancias, en el lugar que estás, Dios nos ama y para que estemos preparados para el siguiente nivel, nos envía a ciertos lugares donde vamos a tener una transformación de nuestro carácter, en un verdadero quebrantamiento y separación de lo que lo que no, nos permite realmente ver, lo que esta dentro de nosotros, entre más Dios remueve algo de nosotros, más salen cosas a la luz, y los traumas secretos del pasado salen a la luz.
Ud. Se preguntará ¿acaso no llama Dios a personas normales a servirle?
La respuesta es no, Dios llama a gente quebrada que tienen que ser restaurada para restaurar a otros.
Preguntas para concluir:
▪︎Estas dispuesto a entrar en un tiempo de separación, donde vas a ser confrontado con tu realidad o con lo profundo que hay en tu corazón?
▪︎Anhelas que el divino alfarero “Jesús”, te moldee, aunque tengas que vivir periodos de quebrantamiento y humillación?
▪︎Anhelas entrar preparado al próximo nivel, al que Dios te quiere llevar?
Oración:
Soberano y eterno Rey, somos vasijas de barro en tus manos, que necesitamos ser moldeados por ti; y nos has traído al, “Querit espiritual”, al lugar de separación contigo; donde somos quebrantados y perfeccionados por tu mano de poder, donde sacas a la luz lo guardado de nuestro corazón para ser confrontados con tu verdad y tener un cambio radical, por eso hoy no huimos, si no que obedecemos a tu voz y nos separamos para ti, entrando en intimidad contigo, y podremos ver la lluvia de tu presencia descender y tu Gloria manifestarse en nuestras vidas, en el nombre de Jesús, Amén!
Place of Separation
1 Kings 17: 1-7
Then Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab: As the Lord God of Israel lives, in whose presence I am, there will be no rain or dew in these years, except by My word. And the word of the Lord came to Him, saying, depart from here, and turn to the east, and hide in the brook Cherith, which is opposite the Jordan. You will drink from the stream; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there. And he went and did according to the word of the Lord; for he went and lived by the Brook Cherith, which faces the Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and drank from the stream. After a few days, the stream dried up because it hadn’t rained on the land. “
At the time this story takes place, the people of Israel had strayed from God’s ways and there was much perversion; but an unknown man appears, although very dedicated to God; and his message was God lives, God is the Sovereign King and the Word of God is true.
* And the first decree that he makes to Ahab, king of Israel, of this time, is: “Jehovah God of Israel lives”, clarifying that the God of Israel is Jehovah, not Baal whom they worshiped, whom they called God of thunder or rain.
* The second decree: “in whose presence I am”, he recognizes the indisputable authority of God over his life and testifies to his consciousness of the divine presence.
* The third decree: “There will be no rain or dew in these years, except by my word.” This indicates that Elijah had a prior knowledge of God’s Word. He knew it so well that God’s Word was his word.
The severe drought began when Elijah declared it as a word of judgment for turning away from God and as a sign of God’s power and sovereignty.
Elijah’s ministry had just begun. He had experienced the power of God, and then the word of God comes to him to separate him from everything and wait for the next command that God would give him. Why does he have to spend time there when he wants the revival to start now?
The stream of Querith (Hebrew) was not just any stream. Its precise location is uncertain, but it was found somewhere in the rocky gorges of Gilead, east of the Jordan River. According to Strong, the name (Hebrew) is derived from the primary verb root, (Hebrew), which literally means “to cut (separately); with the implication of destroying or consuming”. It is the same verb used to “cut a covenant” when cutting meat and passing in the middle of the pieces or cutting the meat as in circumcision. Gesenius says that Querit means “separation.” Therefore, the name describes a place where the rock has been divided (separated) to give rise to the stream of water. It was a place of brokenness, a place of separation in preparation for the flow of the river. The Hebrew word for stream (Hebrew) more accurately represents a temporary river that flows with great force in the winter or rainy season, but leaves canals and gullies dry in the summer. So, the word can refer to a flowing stream or torrent or a dry riverbed.
Psalm 114: 7,8 says:
“The earth trembles at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turned the rock into a pool of water, and the rock into a fountain of water.”
Elijah had to go through a period of brokenness and separation in the presence of the Lord before the rain could fall, the water could flow, and he could shepherd the revival.
Do not be surprised if after you see and live the power of God, you go through a time where you need to be confronted with reality, where you must obey God, although you do not understand why you must live those circumstances, where you are, God loves us And so that we are prepared for the next level, it sends us to certain places where we will have a transformation of our character, in a true brokenness and separation in the presence of the Lord before the rain could fall, the water could flow, and that he could shepherd the revival.

You may wonder, doesn’t God call normal people to serve him?
The answer is no, God calls broken people who have to be restored to restore others.

Prayer:
Sovereign and eternal King, we are clay vessels in Your hands, we need to be molded by You; and You have brought us to the “spiritual Querit”, to the place of separation with You; where we are broken and perfected by Your hand of power, where You bring to light what is kept in our heart to be confronted with Your truth and have a radical change, that is why today we do not flee, but we obey Your voice and separate ourselves to You, entering intimacy with You, and we will see the rain of Your presence descend and Your Glory manifest in our lives, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
