Comprendamos hoy que no hemos caído tanto como para que el Padre no nos reciba otra vez (1 Juan 1:9). Recordemos al hijo pródigo, quien mientras alimentaba cerdos se dio cuenta de que estos comían mejor que él. El joven se hallaba en un punto tan bajo (sin nada propio ni nadie que lo ayudara) que en realidad envidiaba a los cerdos. Las perspectivas futuras del hijo pródigo parecían absolutamente enredadas. La única alternativa que pudo imaginar fue regresar a su padre, con la esperanza de encontrar misericordia. Tal vez su padre lo aceptaría como jornalero.
El hijo pródigo no se daba cuenta de lo mucho que su padre ansiaba su regreso ni de que lo recibiría con los brazos abiertos. Pero lo mismo ocurre con nosotros. Por lejos que estemos de Dios, Él anhela recibirnos otra vez. La gracia del Señor siempre está a nuestra disposición para liberarnos del pecado, darnos esperanza y llevarnos a un futuro victorioso. Por tanto, no envidie a los cerdos; más bien, regrese corriendo al Padre. Él lo restaurará por su gracia y llenará su vida con su bondad.

Jesús, revela los aspectos en que me he convertido en un hijo pródigo y ayúdame a volver a la seguridad de tu amor. Amén
HIS WAITING ARMS
I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you.” LUKE 15:18
Today, realize that you have not fallen so far that the Father will not receive you back (1 John 1:9). Remember the prodigal son. As he looked at the hogs he was feeding, he realized they were eating better than he was. He was at such a low point—with nothing of his own and no one to help him—that he was actually envying the pigs. The prodigal’s future and prospects seemed absolutely lost. The only alternative he could imagine was to return to his father, in the hopes of finding mercy. Perhaps his father would accept him as a hired hand.
The prodigal didn’t realize how his father yearned for him to return or that his father’s arms would be open to him. But the same is true for you. No matter how far you are from God, He is longing to receive you back. God’s grace is always available to you—to free you from sin, give you hope, and lead you to a victorious future.
So don’t envy the pigs; rather, run back to the Father. He will restore you by His grace and fill your life with His goodness.
Prayer:
Jesus, reveal the areas where I’ve become a prodigal, and help me come back to the safety of Your love. Amen.
