A ESTAS ALTURAS, SU ayuno le ha llevado por diferentes emociones y niveles de la presencia de Dios. Está comenzando a ver la recompensa de haber humillado su carne y que solo puede tener lugar durante un ayuno. Está muriendo a sus propios deseos y su voluntad, y sintiendo los deseos del corazón de Él que le llenan y le impulsan hacia grandes cosas. ¡Continúe en este viaje!
Las prioridades de Dios rara vez son nuestras prioridades. Esa es la diferencia entre la naturaleza del hombre y la naturaleza de Dios. Él hasta así lo dijo: “Mis caminos y mis pensamientos son más altos que los de ustedes; ¡más altos que los cielos sobre la tierra!” (Isaías 55:9, NVI). Por tanto, ¿cómo nos situamos nosotros mismos para oír de Dios? ¿Cómo nos liberamos de nuestros propios deseos a fin de conocer su voluntad? Bien, puedo decirle por experiencia de primera mano que el ayuno hace que tome esa espada de la Palabra de Dios y separe lo que usted “quiere” de lo que usted “necesita”.
Cuando usted ayuna y se santifica para Dios, ¡le quita de la orilla y le lleva a los milagros! Hay demasiadas personas en el borde de lo que Dios está haciendo, pero no las suficientes que estén firmemente en el centro de su voluntad. ¿Quiere usted que las cosas cambien en su hogar? Usted es el sacerdote de su casa: ayune, santifíquese, y adopte una postura firme en el centro de la voluntad de Dios. Cuando su familia le vea saliendo del borde de la mera “religión de domingo” y entrando en el centro de lo que Dios está haciendo, ellos seguirán y encontrarán la dirección de Dios para sus vidas.
Usted debería estar unido a un cuerpo local de creyentes en lugar de solamente tratar de encontrar su propio camino. Si hubo alguna vez un tiempo en que necesitábamos cruzar juntos, adoptar una postura firme y unida contra el pecado en este país, es ahora. Nos necesitamos los unos a los otros. Necesitamos un espíritu de estar unidos. Necesitamos un espíritu de confianza. Necesitamos un espíritu de unidad. Necesitamos un espíritu de compasión los unos por los otros.
Deseamos estar en la voluntad de Dios y andar de acuerdo a sus planes. La santificación es la clave de estar en la voluntad de Dios. Como dijo Pablo: “pues la voluntad de Dios es vuestra santificación” (1 Tesalonicenses 4:3). El ayuno es un medio esencial de santificarse, al apartarse del mundo y acercarse a Dios. El ayuno le permite filtrar su vida y apartarse a usted mismo para buscar al Señor.
El ayuno es lo que le prepara para una nueva unción (Marcos 2:20). Dios no puede poner ese tipo de vino en odres viejos. Si usted quiere vino nuevo, nuevos milagros, nueva cercanía, nueva intimidad con Él, entonces es momento de proclamar un ayuno y sustituir ese odre viejo por el nuevo.
En su vigésimo día de ayuno, recuerde:
◇ Ore y permanezca en la Palabra de Dios.
◇Adore a Dios mediante música y alabanza.
◇Los calambres son obvios, ¡pero ha llegado usted hasta aquí!
Pensamientos para su diario: ◇Tome un rato hoy y vuelva a leer las anotaciones en su diario desde el comienzo del ayuno hasta este vigésimo día.
◇ ¿Qué le dicen las anotaciones de su diario sobre su propio viaje personal durante estas tres últimas semanas?
◇Tome un momento y escriba los avances que ha experimentado o las cosas claves que el Señor le ha mostrado durante el ayuno. Pase tiempo en oración y acción de gracias.
Enfoque de oración del día 20: Obreros al campo de cosecha
DIOS DIJO: “PÍDEME, y te daré por herencia las naciones, y como posesión tuya los confines de la tierra!” (Salmos 2:8). Jesús nos dijo: “Pídanle, por tanto, al Señor de la cosecha que envíe obreros a su campo” (Mateo 9:38, NVI). En este vigésimo día de su ayuno, enfoque sus oraciones en estas dos instrucciones clave del cielo. Clame a Dios para que salve multitudes en el valle de la decisión. Clame por los perdidos y quienes sufren, los pobres y los adictos. Pídale que envíe misioneros, embajadores de su Palabra, a la tierra.
El pueblo asentado en tinieblas vio gran luz; y a los asentados en región de sombra de muerte, Luz les resplandeció.

His will, not yours
BY THIS HEIGHT, YOUR fasting has taken you through many different emotions and levels of God’s presence. You are beginning to see the reward of having humbled your flesh and that it can only take place during a fast. You are dying to your own desires and will, and feeling the desires of his heart fill you and propel you to great things. Continue on this journey!
God’s priorities are rarely our priorities. That is the difference between the nature of man and the nature of God. He even said so: “My ways and my thoughts are higher than yours; higher than the heavens above the earth!” (Isaiah 55:9, NIV). So how do we position ourselves to hear from God? How do we free ourselves from our own desires in order to know his will? Well, I can tell you from firsthand experience that fasting causes you to take up that sword of God’s Word and separate what you “want” from what you “need”.
When you fast and sanctify yourself to God, it takes you off the edge and into miracles! There are too many people on the edge of what God is doing, but not enough who are firmly in the center of his will. Do you want things to change in your home? You are the priest of your house: fast, sanctify yourself, and take a stand in the center of God’s will. When your family sees you coming off the edge of mere “Sunday religion” and getting into the center of what God is doing, they will follow through and find God’s direction for their lives.
You should join a local body of believers instead of just trying to find your own way. If there was ever a time we needed to cross together, take a strong, united stand against sin in this country, it is now. We need each other. We need a spirit of being united. We need a spirit of trust. We need a spirit of unity. We need a spirit of compassion for one another.
We want to be in God’s will and walk according to his plans. Sanctification is the key to being in the will of God. As Paul said: “for the will of God is your sanctification” (1 Thessalonians 4:3). Fasting is an essential means of sanctifying oneself, by turning away from the world and drawing closer to God. Fasting allows you to filter your life and set yourself apart to seek the Lord.
Fasting is what prepares you for a new anointing (Mark 2:20). God can’t put that kind of wine in old wineskins. If you want new wine, new miracles, new closeness, new intimacy with Him, then it’s time to proclaim a fast and replace that old wineskin with the new one.
On your 20th day of fasting, remember:
◇ Pray and stay in the Word of God.
◇Worship God through music and praise.
◇The cramps are obvious, but you’ve come this far!
Thoughts for your journal: ◇Take some time today and reread your journal entries from the beginning of the fast to this 20th day.
◇ What do your journal entries tell you about your own personal journey over the past three weeks?
◇Take a moment and write down the breakthroughs you have experienced or the key things the Lord has shown you during the fast. Spend time in prayer and thanksgiving.
Prayer Focus for Day 20: Laborers to the Harvest Field
GOD SAID: “ASK ME, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, and the ends of the earth as your possession!” (Psalms 2:8). Jesus told us, “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his field” (Matthew 9:38, NIV). On this, one of the final days of your fast, focus your prayers on these two key instructions from heaven. Call on God to save multitudes in the valley of decision. Cry out for the lost and hurting, the poor and the addicted. Ask him to send missionaries, ambassadors of his Word, to earth.
The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.
