2 Reyes 5:2-3
En cierta ocasión los sirios, que salían a merodear; capturaron a una muchacha israelita y le hicieron criada de la esposa de Naamán. Un día la muchacha le dijo a su ama: “Ojalá el amo fuera a ver al profeta que hay en Samaria, porque el lo sanaría de su lepra”
Hay personajes en la biblia que no tienen mucha fama, pero cuando conocemos de ellas, nos damos cuenta de que han dejado una huella muy grande, de hecho, hicieron cosas, respondieron a situaciones que hicieron que cambien el rumbo de la historia de una familia y quizás hasta de una nación.
Hoy hablaremos de una mujer que había sufrido una tragedia en su vida personal, que fue arrancada de sus seres queridos, y quizás de todos sus planes. Y ese es el caso de la criada de Naamán. La muchacha israelita era una prisionera de guerra que había sido llevada a Siria. Era de esperarse que permaneciera en ese lugar como criada por el resto de su vida. Cuando tenían edad suficiente, las muchachas en la situación de ella a menudo se convertían en concubinas del esposo de las mujeres que ellas servían. Sin embargo, esta criada judía, asume su nuevo roll, cumple su función, trabaja como esclava y cuando se entera de la situación de su dueño, no se calla la “buena noticia” que tenía para él.
Su amo, Naamán, era un soldado valiente y exitoso. Era muy querido por las personas que el servía y también por los que le servían a él. Pero cuenta las escrituras que la joven esclava se compadeció de él, porque Naamán padecía de lepra. Solo un milagro de Dios podía sanarlo.
Un día la muchacha le menciono a la esposa de Naamán de un profeta en Israel. “Si tan solo Naamán fuera a verlo” .
Eliseo no tenia fama de curar a leprosos, pero esta muchacha sabía que era profeta de Dios. Y Dios podía sanar cualquier cosa, incluyendo lepra. Ella tenia una FE simple pero profunda.
No había otra solución para Naamán, de modo que su dueño pensó que valía la pena intentarlo. Esa buena noticia que la criada le había dado a Naamán, hoy lo podemos relacionar con el “Evangelio” – que en latín significa “buena noticia”.
Había una buena noticia para Naamán, había una posibilidad de salvación.
En Israel, Naamán hizo contacto con el Dios vivo. No solo se sano de lepra, sino que se curo de su incredulidad. Hasta se llevo de la tierra prometida, dos bolsas de tierra a Siria para edificar un altar para Dios. ¡Imagínate!… ¡¿Quién sabe cuántas vidas habrá tocado Naamán en su celo por Dios desde su posición encumbrada en el gobierno?!
Todo esto ocurrió porque una muchacha esclava no se centró solamente en su condición, sino que pudo ver más allá de sus propios problemas o condición y se interesó por un extranjero que la tenía cautiva, ella pudo entender que la vida de Naamán también era importante para Dios (Jeremías 1:5). Para ella, el hablar de la buena noticia no representaba ningún beneficio personal, ella no se guardó, ni regateo para que la liberaran. Ella dio libremente de la FE que tenia y dejo lo demás en las manos de Dios.
Sin duda experimento el gozo de saber que Dios la había usado para llevar a cabo una obra poderosa. Agrado al que mas importaba.
El avance del del Reino de Dios depende de personas fieles de las que el mundo a veces no se percata de su existencia, pero son personas que cumplieron con el plan para el cual Dios las creo, aun a pesar de la condición en que se encuentran. Esta criada fue osada y atrevida al revelar a sus amos de la existencia de su Dios y dar a conocer de esa buena noticia sin escatimar las consecuencias a la que ella como esclava se estaba exponiendo.
Nunca sabemos donde pueda usarnos el Señor. Hay muchos a nuestro alrededor que están enfermos en lo espiritual y necesitan del toque del Sanador supremo. Aproveche cualquier oportunidad que le de Dios, sea cual fuere las circunstancias que le toque vivir, para decir a otros que lo que les hace falta es Jesucristo.
Pidamos a Dios en este día, a ser osadas, atrevidas y valientes como esta criada para dar a conocer las “buenas noticias” del evangelio en todo tiempo.
Aprendamos a tener de ese tipo de FE para poder hablar a todos del Dios de milagros al que servimos, porque quizás estaríamos cambiando no solo la historia de una familia, ¡sino quizás hasta de una Nación!
Oración:
Amado Espíritu Santo! Danos de tu gracia y poder para ser mujeres atrevidas en el espíritu y proclamar las buenas nuevas de Salvación; aquella criada de Naamán pudo haberse callado por su condición de esclava pero sin embargo no cayo y proclamo que hay un Dios que hace milagros por mano del profeta que lo podía sanar, ayudanos hacer fieles a ti y a tu Reino para proclamar el evangelio de Poder, porque tu eres el Dios de milagros y sigues siendo el mismo ayer, hoy y por los siglos, en el nombre de Jesús, Amén!
Naaman’s maid
2 Kings 5: 2-3
On one occasion the Syrians, who were out prowling; They captured an Israelite girl and made her a servant to Naaman’s wife. One day the girl told her mistress: “I wish the master would go to see the prophet in Samaria, because he would heal him of his leprosy.”
There are characters in the bible who are not very famous, but when we learn about them, we realize that they have left a very big mark, in fact, they did things, they responded to situations that changed the course of a family’s history and maybe even a nation.
Today we will talk about a woman who had suffered a tragedy in her personal life, who was torn from her loved ones, and perhaps from all her plans. And that’s the case with Naaman’s maid. The Israelite girl was a prisoner of war who had been taken to Syria. It was to be expected that she would remain in that place as a maid for the rest of her life. When they were old enough, girls in her situation often became concubines to the husband of the women they served. However, this Jewish maid, she takes on her new role, fulfills her role, works as a slave and when she finds out about the situation of her owner, she does not shut up the “good news” that she had for him.
Her love, Naaman, was a brave and successful soldier. He was very loved by the people he served and also by those who served him. But the scriptures say that the slave girl felt sorry for him, because Naaman suffered from leprosy. Only a miracle of God could heal him.
One day the girl mentioned Naaman’s wife of a prophet in Israel. “If only Naaman were to see him.”
Elisha was not known to cure lepers, but this girl knew that she was a prophet of God. And God could heal anything, including leprosy. She had a simple but deep FAITH.
There was no other solution for Naaman, so his owner thought it was worth a try. Today we can relate that good news that the maid had given to Naaman with the “Gospel” – which in Latin means “good news.”
There was good news for Naaman, there was a possibility of salvation. In Israel, Naaman made contact with the living God. Not only was he healed of leprosy, but he healed of his unbelief. He even took two bags of earth from the promised land to Syria to build an altar for God. Imagine! … Who knows how many lives Naaman will have touched in his zeal for God from his lofty position in government ?!
All this happened because a slave girl did not focus only on her condition, but could see beyond her own problems or condition and was interested in a foreigner who was holding her captive, she could understand that Naaman’s life was also important to God (Jeremiah 1: 5). For her, speaking the good news did not represent any personal benefit, she did not hold back, nor did she bargain to be released from her. She freely gave of the FAITH that she had and left the rest in the hands of God.
She certainly experienced the joy of knowing that God had used her to accomplish a mighty work. Pleasing the one who mattered the most.
The advancement of the Kingdom of God depends on faithful people that the world sometimes does not realize of their existence, but they are people who fulfilled the plan for which God created them, even despite the condition in which they are . This maid was daring and daring to reveal to her masters the existence of hers God of hers and to share that good news without sparing the consequences to which she as a slave was exposing herself.
We never know where the Lord can use us. There are many around us who are spiritually ill and in need of the supreme Healer’s touch. Take advantage of any opportunity that God gives you, whatever your circumstances, to tell others that what they need is Jesus Christ.
Let us ask God on this day, to be bold, daring and courageous like this servant to spread the “good news” of the gospel at all times.
Let’s learn to have that kind of FAITH to be able to speak to everyone about the God of miracles we serve, because perhaps we would be changing not only the history of a family, but perhaps even of a Nation!
Prayer:
Beloved Holy Spirit! Give us your grace and power to be bold women in spirit and proclaim the good news of Salvation; That servant of Naaman could have kept quiet because of her condition as a slave but nevertheless she did not fall and proclaimed that there is a God who works miracles by the hand of the prophet who could heal her, help us to make you and your Kingdom faithful to proclaim the Gospel of Power because you are the God of miracles and you remain the same yesterday, today and forever, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
