Porque esta desea lo que es contrario al Espíritu, y el Espíritu desea lo que es contrario a ella. Los dos se oponen entre sí, de modo que ustedes no pueden hacer lo que quieren.

La carne y el Espíritu están en batalla entre sí. Podemos tener un impulso o un sentir sobre algo y sabemos en nuestros corazones que es correcto, pero nuestras mentes tratarán de disuadirnos de ello. Esto sucede en todos nosotros.
Supongamos que siente que debería dar dinero a una familia necesitada. Su corazón cree que es lo correcto y cree que agradará a Dios porque este deseo es inspirado por el Espíritu Santo. Pero su carne podría decir: No le des nada a esas personas; nunca han hecho nada por ti. La carne lucha contra el espíritu y usted lucha por decidir a quién escuchar.
Estoy convencida de que nos perdemos muchas bendiciones en nuestras vidas porque tratamos de comprender demasiado mentalmente en lugar de simplemente permitirle al Espíritu Santo que nos guíe. Haga lo que está en su corazón, no en su cabeza. Haga lo que tenga paz haciendo, no solo lo que quiere hacer.

The Battle Within
For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict]. (Galatians 5:17)
The flesh and the spirit are at battle with each other. We may have an impulse or a sense about something, and we know in our hearts it is right, but our minds will try to talk us out of it. This happens in all of us.
Let’s say you sense you should give money to a family in need. Your heart believes it is the right thing to do, and you believe it will please God because this desire is inspired by the Holy Spirit. But your flesh might say, Don’t give anything to those people; they have never done anything for you. The flesh fights against the spirit, and you struggle to decide which one to listen to.
I am convinced we miss many blessings in our lives because we try to mentally understand too much instead of simply allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us. Do what is in your heart, not your head. Do what you have peace about doing, not just what you want to do.

As you follow the Holy Spirit and His leading in your heart (your spirit), you will invest in tomorrow by making the right choices today.
