Jueces 5:24-27
Bendita sea entre las mujeres Jael, Mujer de Heber ceneo; Sobre las mujeres bendita sea en la tienda. Él pidió agua, y ella le dio leche; En tazón de nobles le presentó crema. Tendió su mano a la estaca, Y su diestra al mazo de trabajadores, Y golpeó a Sísara; hirió su cabeza, Y le horadó, y atravesó sus sienes. Cayó encorvado entre sus pies, quedó tendido; Entre sus pies cayó encorvado; Donde se encorvó, allí cayó muerto.
Fue Jael una heroína, una mujer que aprovecho la oportunidad que se le presentó en su casa, no dudo desde el primer momento hacer lo que debía hacer, ella sabia cuan malo era Sisara, general del pueblo cananeo y como oprimían a otros pueblos.
Ella y su marido, Héber, eran quenitas, integrantes de una tribu nómada cuya supervivencia dependía de su capacidad de mantenerse al margen de las disputas locales. Su marido había hecho las paces con los cananeos a pesar de ser descendiente de Hobab, el cuñado de Moisés. Quizá los antiguos lazos ya no le parecían convenientes, dado el poder que habían alcanzado los gobernantes cananeos. Pero Jael por el contrario sabía que el Dios de Israel había hecho grandes cosas por su pueblo y ella no se quizo quedar atrás, en cuanto tuvo la oportunidad hizo lo que en sus manos fue puesto por el mismo Dios de Israel; aunque el le pidió agua 💦, ella le dio leche🥛 para que cayera profundo en sueño, pertenecía a un tribu nómada, era experta en montar las tiendas ⛺, tomó una estaca de la tienda y la enterró en sus sienes; destruyendo así al enemigo del pueblo de Dios.
Dios siempre esta buscando un corazón dispuesto a servirle, que se una a sus planes eternos.
Y Jael fue la conexión divina que uso Dios para bendecir y libertar al pueblo de Israel como lo había profetizado Débora a Barac general del ejército de Israel.
Ya que cuando Débora le comunica a Barac que debia enfrentar el ejército de los cananeos, el le responde a Débora en:
Jueces 4:8-9
Barac le respondió: Si tú fueres conmigo, yo iré; pero si no fueres conmigo, no iré. Ella dijo: Iré contigo; mas no será tuya la gloria de la jornada que emprendes, porque en mano de mujer venderá Jehová a Sísara. Y levantándose Débora, fue con Barac a Cedes.
Jael fue astuta y utilizo lo que tenía a la mano y Dios se glorifico a través de ella.
A veces somos ingenuas con respecto al tipo de luchas espirituales que enfrentamos como cristianas. Efesios 6 nos habla sobre la importancia de ponernos toda la armadura de Dios para poder enfrentar la batalla con éxito. En este ayuno equipemonos y tomemos la batalla con éxito. Hoy tomemos un tiempo para examinar en todo lo que debemos equiparnos: aseguremonos de no haber olvidado nada que resulte vital, sin lo cual quedaríamos más vulnerable a los ataques. He aquí una lista de lo que debemos llevar puesto como guerreras espirituales bien armadas:
▪︎El cinturón de la verdad: ¿Se le ha metido sigilosamente en la vida alguna deshonestidad, por pequeña que sea? ▪︎La coraza de justicia: ¿Colabora usted con gracia para llegar a parecerse más a Cristo?
▪︎El calzado del evangelio de la paz: El evangelio nos reconcilia con Dios y con los demás. ¿Estás dispuesta a recibirlo, vivir según sus normas y comunicarlo a otros?
▪︎El escudo de la fe: ¿Respondes a las cuestiones de la vida con fe, o de una alguna manera muestras que realmente no crees que Dios tenga tanto amor o poder como dice?
▪︎El casco de la salvación: La salvación es un regalo. Pero, como todo regalo, debe ser aceptado.
▪︎La espada del Espíritu: La palabra de Dios hiere al enemigo y frustra sus propósitos. Leer y orar las Escrituras nos ayuda a pasar a la ofensiva.
Oración
Señor, quiero levantarme como guerrera de tu reino, equipame y deposita en mi todo lo que necesito para estar siempre diligente como atalaya, punta de lanza que da en el blanco, con la sabiduría y discernimiento que tu Santo Espíritu me da. En el nombre de Jesús.

Judges 5: 24-27
“Most blessed of women be Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, most blessed of tent-dwelling women. He asked for water, and she gave him milk; in a bowl fit for nobles she brought him curdled milk. Her hand reached for the tent peg, her right hand for the workman’s hammer. She struck Sisera, she crushed his head, she shattered and pierced his temple. At her feet he sank, he fell; there he lay. At her feet he sank, he fell; where he sank, there he fell—dead
Jael was a heroine, a woman who took advantage of the opportunity that was presented to her at home, she did not hesitate from the first moment to do what she had to, she knew how bad Sisara, general of the Canaanite people, was and how they oppressed other people.
She and her husband, Héber, were Quenites, members of a nomadic tribe whose survival depended on their ability to stay out of local disputes. Her husband had made his peace with the Canaanites despite being a descendant of Hobab, Moses’ brother-in-law. Perhaps the old ties no longer seemed convenient, given the power that the Canaanite rulers had achieved. But Jael, on the contrary, knew that the God of Israel had done great things for her people and she did not want to be left behind, as soon as she had the opportunity, she did what was placed in her hands by the same God of Israel; although he asked her for water 💦, she gave him milk🥛 so that he would fall deep in sleep, she belonged to a nomadic tribe, she was an expert in pitching tents ⛺, she took a stake from the tent and buried it in the temples; thus destroying the enemy of God’s people.
God is always looking for a heart willing to serve him, to join her eternal plans.
And Jael was the divine connection that God used to bless and deliver the people of Israel as Deborah had prophesied to Barak general of the army of Israel.
Since when Deborah communicates to Barak that he had to face the army of the Canaanites, he responds to Deborah in:
Judges 4: 8-9
Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I will go; but if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.”
“Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the Lord will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.
Jael was cunning and used what she had at her hand and God was glorified through her.
Sometimes we are naïve about the kinds of spiritual struggles we face as Christians. Ephesians 6 tells us about the importance of putting on the full armor of God in order to face the battle successfully. In this fast let us equip ourselves and take the battle successfully. Let’s take some time today to examine everything we need to equip ourselves with: let’s make sure we haven’t forgotten anything vital, without which we would be more vulnerable to attack. Here’s a list of what to wear as well-armed spirit warriors:
▪︎The Belt of Truth: Has any dishonesty crept into your life, no matter how small? ▪︎The Breastplate of Righteousness: Are You Graciously Working Together to Become More Like Christ?
▪︎The footwear of the gospel of peace: The gospel reconciles us with God and with others. Are you willing to receive it, live by its standards and communicate it to others?
▪︎The Shield of Faith: Do you answer life’s questions with faith, or do you somehow show that you really don’t believe God has as much love or power as He says?
▪︎The helmet of salvation: Salvation is a gift. But, like any gift, it must be accepted.
▪︎The sword of the Spirit: The word of God wounds the enemy and frustrates his purposes. Reading and praying the scriptures helps us go on the offensive.
Prayer:
Lord, I want to rise as a warrior of your kingdom, equip me and deposit in me everything I need to be always diligent as a watchman, a spearhead that hits the target, with the wisdom and discernment that your Holy Spirit gives me. In the name of Jesus.
