Andar ante Dios por el camino recto puede parecer una tarea imposible. Justo cuando empezamos a sentirnos santos, sucumbimos a la tentación y caemos. Ahí es cuando se nos recuerda de golpe nuestra naturaleza humana y nuestra necesidad abrumadora de Dios.
No sabemos cómo hacer la voluntad de Dios de inmediato tras ser salvos; tenemos que aprenderlo. No empezamos a andar de forma natural en sus caminos; él tiene que dirigirnos. Lo más bello de la salvación es que nadie espera que hagamos ninguna de estas cosas por nosotros mismos. Dios pone su Espíritu dentro de nosotros y nos dirige con rectitud por un terreno sin obstáculos. La vida cristiana santificada solo es posible cuando nos rendimos por completo a la gracia de Dios, las enseñanzas de Jesucristo y la guía del Espíritu Santo.
Oración:
Gracias, Dios, porque tú no esperas que yo viva una vida justa por mis propias fuerzas. Necesito tu gracia y tú la das con abundancia. Gracias por enseñarme y guiarme en cada paso del camino, para que yo pueda darte la gloria y el honor que te corresponden.
Lead Me on Level Ground
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. PSALM 143:10
Walking before God on the path of righteousness can feel like an impossible task. Just when we begin to feel holy, we succumb to temptation and we fall. We are reminded all at once of our innate humanity and overwhelming need for God.
We don’t immediately know how to do God’s will when we get saved; we have to be taught. We don’t naturally begin to walk in his ways; we need to be led. The beautiful thing about salvation is that we aren’t expected to do any of it on our own. God puts his Spirit within us and leads us in righteousness on level ground. The sanctified, Christian life is only possible when we completely surrender ourselves to the grace of God, the teaching of Jesus Christ, and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Thank you, God, that you don’t expect me to live a righteous life in my own strength. I need your grace and you give it freely. Thank you for teaching me and guiding me every step of the way, so I can bring you the glory and the honor you are worthy of.
