Lucas 1:11-12
Y se le apareció a Zacarías un ángel del Señor, de pie, a la derecha del altar del incienso. Al verlo, Zacarías se turbó, y el temor se apoderó de él.
Como iglesia hemos tenido una experiencia continua del mover de la presencia del Espíritu Santo, pero hemos notado que para algunos que nos han visitado por primera vez les parece locura, como lo habla la Biblia en
1 Corintios 2:14
Pero el hombre natural no percibe las cosas que son del Espíritu de Dios, porque para él son locura, y no las puede entender, porque se han de discernir espiritualmente.
Pero una minoria lo recibe con temor, al ver en otras personas con manifestaciones del Espíritu Santo; como el hablar en lenguas, personas embriagadas que ríen sin cesar o por el contrario lloran sin razón.
La historia que acabamos de leer narra como el Arcángel Gabriel, mensajero de Dios se le aparece a el Sacerdote Zacarías, Padre de Juan el Bautista.
Algunas traducciones biblicas afirman que este es el Arcángel Gabriel, el cual era portador de la promesa de Dios para Zacarías; quien oraba a Dios por un hijo y este sería de gran gozo y alegría.
La biblia dice que Zacarías aún cuando oraba, se le apareció el Arcángel del Señor.
El Arcángel simplemente se quedó a la derecha del altar del incienso. Zacarías probablemente tenía los ojos cerrados orando apasionadamente, y cuando los abrió, vio a este ángel y su corazón se llenó de mucho miedo.
Este ángel era una gloriosa, temerosa, y una increíble criatura. Como la mayoría de los ángeles en la Biblia, lo primero que este ángel tiene que decir: Zacarías ”no temas”.
De esta manera Zacarías puede escuchar atentamente la palabra del Señor, la respuesta a esa petición por la cual él clamaba a Dios.
Es normal que sintamos miedo al tener una experiencia de esta índole, pero lo que causó que el sacerdote Zacarias quedara mudo fue la duda.
A pesar que estaba teniendo un encuentro sobrenatural con un mensajero de Dios, Zacarias dudo.
El miedo que sintió al tener esta experiencia, no afecto en nada para que recibiera lo que Dios le había concedido.
Aunque sientas miedo o no entiendas lo que está sucediendo y parezca de locos. Recuerda las manifestaciones del Espíritu Santo son impredecibles y nos encontramos en los tiempos de que hablo el profeta Joel.
»Y sucederá que después de esto, Derramaré Mi Espíritu sobre toda carne; Y sus hijos y sus hijas profetizarán, Sus ancianos soñarán sueños, Sus jóvenes verán visiones. Y aun sobre los siervos y las siervas Derramaré Mi Espíritu en esos días.
Joel 2:28-29
Él futuro es incierto, y no sabemos que es lo que sucederá en los días que vienen.
Tenemos que anclar nuestra fe en Jesús, nuestro futuro está en sus manos, sin importar los sucesos debemos creer y aferrarnos a la promesas de Dios.
Es maravilloso despertar cada día confiados en el Señor, en el futuro que él tiene para cada uno de nosotros.
Qué maravilloso es emplear cada día nuestro esfuerzo en vivir confiados en las promesas de Dios.
De esta manera nuestro corazón descansará en la paz del Señor, porque nuestro futuro está verdaderamente en sus manos.
Oración:
Amado Dios, sabemos que nuestra alma está anclada en el cielo en Cristo Jesús y anhelamos caminar en fe, no por vista. Enseñanos a enfrentar cada situación como hijos tuyos, tanto en lo sobrenatural, como en la adversidad, como en lo común de cada día, como en lo inesperado, donde la duda no tome poder en nuestro corazón, en el nombre de Jesús, amén.
Uncertain future
Luke 1: 11-12
And an angel of the Lord appeared to Zacharias, standing to the right of the altar of incense. Seeing him, Zacharias was troubled, and fear seized him.
As a church we have had a continuous experience of the movement of the presence of the Holy Spirit, but we have noticed that for some who have visited us for the first time it seems crazy, as the Bible speaks in
1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man does not perceive the things that are of the Spirit of God, because for him they are madness, and he cannot understand them, because they have to be discerned spiritually.
But a minority receives it with fear, seeing in other people with manifestations of the Holy Spirit; like speaking in tongues, intoxicated
people who laugh incessantly or on the contrary cry for no reason.
The story we have just read tells how the Archangel Gabriel, God’s messenger, appears to the Priest Zacharias, Father of John the Baptist.
Some biblical translations affirm that this is the Archangel Gabriel, who was the bearer of God’s promise to Zacharias; who prayed to God for a son and this would be of great joy and happiness.
The bible says that even when Zacharias was praying, the Archangel of the Lord appeared to him.
The Archangel simply stayed to the right of the altar of incense. Zacharias probably had his eyes closed praying passionately, and when he opened them, he saw this angel and his heart was filled with great fear.
This angel was a glorious, fearful, and incredible creature. Like most angels in the Bible, the first thing this angel has to say: Zechariah “fear not.”
In this way, Zacharias can listen attentively to the word of the Lord, the answer to that request for which he cried out to God.
It is normal for us to feel fear when having an experience of this nature, but what caused the priest Zacarias to remain speechless was the doubt.
Despite the fact that he was having a supernatural encounter with a messenger from God, Zacarias doubted.
The fear that he felt when having this experience did not affect anything so that he would receive what God had granted him.
Even if you feel scared or do not understand what is happening and it seems crazy. Remember the manifestations of the Holy Spirit are unpredictable and we are in the times of which the prophet Joel spoke.
»And it will happen that after this, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; And his sons and his daughters will prophesy, His old men will dream dreams, His young men will see visions. And even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
Joel 2: 28-29
The future is uncertain, and we do not know what will happen in the days to come.
We have to anchor our faith in Jesus, our future is in his hands, regardless of the events we must believe and hold on to God’s promises.
It is wonderful to wake up every day trusting in the Lord, in the future that he has for each one of us.
How wonderful it is to use our effort every day to live with confidence in God’s promises.
In this way our hearts will rest in the peace of the Lord, because our future is truly in his hands.
Prayer:
Dear God, we know that our soul is anchored in heaven in Christ Jesus and we long to walk by faith, not by sight. Teach us to face each situation as your children, both in the supernatural, as in adversity, as in the ordinary of each day, as in the unexpected, where doubt does not take power in our hearts, in the name of Jesus, amen.
