Los discípulos de Jesús lo vieron obrar muchos milagros durante los tres años en que fue su mentor. Así que no es de extrañar que le pidieran que les diera la clave de su fenomenal poder y sabiduría. «Señor, enséñanos a orar», le pidieron (Lucas 11:1). Habían observado cómo pasaba tiempo Jesús con el Padre y habían visto que eso era fundamental para las cosas asombrosas que realizaba. Así que, después de que Jesús fuera crucificado y resucitara, se retiraron para hacer lo que Él les había enseñado: orar.
Lo que Jesús les enseñó fue un modelo para todos nosotros como creyentes. En el centro de las instrucciones de Cristo estaba la frase fundamental: «Venga Tu reino. Hágase Tu voluntad, así en la tierra como en el cielo» (Mateo 6:10). Ese es el núcleo de la oración genuina: buscar y someterse a la voluntad de Dios en cada circunstancia.
Eso ayudó a aquel pequeño grupo de discípulos a llevar el evangelio al mundo después de la resurrección de Jesús, a través de la cual el Señor les dio el mensaje, la estrategia y la resiliencia para prevalecer a pesar de la persecución. La oración también te ayudará a resistir y prosperar en cualquier circunstancia. Deja que tu tiempo con el Padre te guíe hacia su voluntad y te dé el poder para triunfar en su nombre.

Jesus’ disciples saw Him work many miracles during the three years He mentored them. So it is no surprise that they asked Him to give them the key to His phenomenal power and wisdom. “Lord, teach us to pray,” they requested (Luke 11:1). They had watched how Jesus spent time with the Father and had seen that it was central to the astonishing things He accomplished. So after Jesus had been crucified and resurrected, they retreated to do what He had taught them: pray.
What Jesus taught them was a pattern for all of us as believers. At the heart of Christ’s instructions was the pivotal phrase, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). That is the core of genuine prayer: seeking and submitting to the will of God in every circumstance. It helped that small group of disciples take the gospel to the world after Jesus’ resurrection—through it, the Lord gave them the message, strategy, and endurance to prevail despite persecution. Prayer will help you endure and succeed in whatever your circumstance is today as well. Let your time with the Father steer you into His will and give you the power to triumph in His name.
