Hemos notado que el sufrimiento, la persecución y el dolor han caracterizado a la cristiandad. Hemos dicho que cualquier sufrimiento por más grande que sea o parezca, al final es insignificante con respecto a la gloria venidera que ha de manifestarse en los hijos de Dios. Aun así, debemos considerar que, por leve que sea nuestra vida, estamos sujetos a toda clase de tentaciones, pruebas y distractores que nos pueden sacar de la carrera, es decir, hay rivales o enemigos que debemos reconocer para contrarrestar su influencia sobre nosotros. Estos rivales buscan llevarnos al pecado, la duda, y la apatía, para destruir nuestra comunión con Dios.
El mayor de nuestros rivales somos nosotros mismos, es decir, nuestra humanidad. La Biblia lo define como nuestra carne. Ella combate en nuestros miembros para satisfacerse. El otro rival es el mundo en que vivimos. La Biblia nos dice que vivimos en un mundo gobernado por Satanás, y, por tanto, trata de influenciarnos con todo tipo de cosas que son “agradables a los ojos”, y a través de todo tipo de placeres o medios de satisfacción, pretende desviar nuestra atención del propósito de Dios.
El otro rival, no menos temerario, es el enemigo (Satanás). Él, con sus mentiras trata de engañarnos con respecto a lo que Dios ha dicho de nosotros e igualmente trata de oprimirnos con duda y temor, y también utiliza a otras personas para ponernos en situaciones comprometedoras, con el objetivo de hacernos caer en sus trampas. Él es el padre de la mentira, y ha engañado al mundo haciéndole creer cualquier cosa, con tal de mantenerlo distraído de la verdad de Dios.
En todos los casos, Dios nos ha concedido el poder para poder vencer. Podemos vestirnos del nuevo hombre conforme a la imagen de Dios y despojarnos del viejo hombre, el cual está viciado de pecado. Somos vencedores por medio de Cristo, y nuestra fe nos hace prevalecer frente al mundo y al enemigo.
Debemos estar atentos a nuestros rivales y estar conscientes de su poder, pero debemos saber de antemano que tenemos el poder (no por nosotros mismos), de salir victoriosos en medio de las tentaciones y las pruebas. Este poder está a nuestra disposición por medio del Espíritu Santo.
¿Puede usted reconocer algún pecado o debilidad la cual es recurrente?
¿Puede notar la influencia del pensamiento secular en su vida, en su gobierno y en las personas que lo rodean?
Reconozca su debilidad y pídale a Dios con fervor que le ayude en su debilidad. Usted debe trabajar en ella. ¿O se dará por vencido?
Oración:
Rey de Gloria, ayúdanos a ser fuerte en nuestras debilidades, cúbrenos con tu manto de santidad y así, podremos resistir las tentaciones en nuestra carne, nos declaramos fortalecidos por tu gracia y favor, en el nombré de Jesús, ¡Amén!
Steadfastness in our Weakness
We have noticed that suffering, persecution and pain have created character in Christianity. We have said that any suffering, however great it may be or may seem, is in the end insignificant with regard to the glory to be shown in the children of God. Even so, we must consider that, no matter what, we are subject to all sorts of temptations, trials and distractors that can take us out of the race, that is, there are rivals or enemies that we must recognize to counter their influence on us. These rivals seek to lead us to sin, doubt, and apathy to destroy our communion with God.
The greatest of our rivals are ourselves, that is, our humanity. The Bible defines it as our flesh. The flesh fights in ourselves to satisfy itself. The other rival is the world we live in. The Bible tells us that we live in a world governed by Satan, and therefore tries to influence us with all kinds of things that are “pleasing to the eyes,” and through all kinds of pleasures or means of satisfaction. The world seeks to divert our attention from God’s purpose.
The other rival, no less fearful, is the enemy (Satan). He, with his lies, tries to deceive us about what God has said about us and equally tries to oppress us with doubt and fear, and also uses other people to put us in compromising situations, with the aim of making us fall into their traps. He is the father of the lie, and he has deceived the world by making him believe anything, to keep him distracted from the truth of God.
In all cases, God has given us the power to overcome. We can clothe ourselves anew according to the image of God and strip ourselves of the our old self, who is flawed in sin. We are overcomers through Christ, and our faith makes us prevail in the face of the world and the enemy.
We must be attentive to our rivals and aware of their power, but we must know beforehand that we have the power (not for ourselves), to be victorious in the midst of temptations and trials. This power is at our disposal through the Holy Spirit.
Can you recognize any sin or weakness that is recurring?
Can you notice the influence of secular thinking on your life, your government, and the people around you?
Recognize your weakness and ask God fervently to help you in your weakness. You must work on it. Or will you give up?
Prayer:
Blessed God, nothing can be done without you, you are our strength and you strengthen us in our weaknesses, we need you to fill us every day more of your Holy Spirit, your righteousness and your peace, we want to bear good fruit and do your will, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
