Su señor le respondió: «¡Hiciste bien, siervo bueno y fiel! En lo poco has sido fiel; te pondré a cargo de mucho más. ¡Ven a compartir la felicidad de tu señor!». MATEO 25:21 (NVI)
Es muy fácil sentirnos descontentas con nuestras vidas. Tenemos la sensación de que deberíamos estar haciendo más con nuestra formación, nuestros hijos, nuestras carreras o con otras responsabilidades. Miramos los éxitos de los demás y nos preguntamos por qué parece que nosotras no hayamos conseguido tanto. Seguimos esperando el día en el que nuestro jefe nos ascienda, o nuestros hijos consigan grandes cosas, o finalmente alcancemos un nivel de ingresos donde podamos ser felices.
Cuando Jesús contó la parábola del sirviente fiel al cual le fueron confiadas las responsabilidades de su amo, Jesús decidió centrarse en lo bien que el siervo actuó con las pocas cosas que se le dieron. ¿Qué tienes tú por delante hoy, esta semana o este año? Puede que no parezca mucho, pero Jesús te está pidiendo que seas fiel con lo que sea que te haya sido confiado. Si eres fiel en estas pocas cosas, Dios te invita a regocijarte con él. Y será entonces cuando verás que él te dará más.
Oración:
Padre celestial, siento haberte pedido demasiadas cosas y demasiado rápido. Permíteme ser diligente y conformarme con las pocas cosas que me has confiado ahora mismo. Ayúdame a experimentar tu voz y a estar preparada para las mayores responsabilidades que tú puedes concederme.
Faithful with the Few
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” MATTHEW 25:21 NIV
It is easy to be discontented with our lives. We think we should be doing more with our education, children, careers, or other responsibilities. We look at others’ successes and wonder why we don’t seem to have achieved as much. We keep waiting for the day our boss gives us that promotion, or our children achieve great things, or we finally reach that level of income where we can be happy.
When Jesus told the parable of the committed servant that was entrusted with his master’s duties, he made a point of focusing on how well the servant did with the few things that were put in front of him. What do you have in front of you today, this week, or this year? It may not look like much, but Jesus is asking you to be faithful to him with whatever you have been given. If you are faithful with these few things, God invites you to rejoice with him. It is then that you will see him bring you more.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I am sorry for asking for too much, too quickly. Allow me to be diligent and content with the few responsibilities that you have put in front of me right now. Help me to experience your joy and be ready for the greater responsibilities that you may bring.
