Ustedes son la luz del mundo. Una ciudad en lo alto de una colina no puede esconderse. Ni se enciende una lámpara para cubrirla con un cajón. Por el contrario, se pone en la repisa para que alumbre a todos los que están en la casa. MATEO 5:14-15
Los faros se construyeron por un buen motivo. Durante cientos de años han alumbrado con su luz en puertos de todo el mundo, guiando a los barcos con seguridad hacia la costa. La premisa es simple: poner una luz bien alta, allá donde pueda verse fácilmente.
Jesús es la luz del mundo. Es una luz que no está hecha para ocultarse, sino para ponerla en alto, donde todos puedan verla fácilmente. Y, como seguidores de él, somos llamados a mostrar esta luz con fuerza, de modo que los demás puedan verla por sí mismos. No la escondemos, sino que iluminamos con valentía el camino hacia Cristo.
Oración:
Dios, ayúdame a no ocultar mi luz. Dame la valentía para que mi fe sea una fuente de luz para todo aquel que me vea. Quiero brillar con fuerza para que otros puedan salir de la oscuridad y unirse a mí en tu maravillosa luz.
Lighthouses
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” MATTHEW 5:14-15
There’s a good reason why lighthouses were built. For hundreds of years, they’ve shined brightly across harbors around the world, guiding ships safely to shore. The premise was simple; put the light up high where it can easily be seen.
Jesus is the light of the world. That light wasn’t meant to be hidden away. It’s meant to be put up high, where everyone can easily see it. And as his followers, we are called to shine brightly for him, in such a way that others can see it for themselves. We don’t hide it away; we boldly light the way to Christ.
Prayer:
God, help me not to hide my light. Give me boldness of faith to be a source of light for everyone who comes in contact with me. I want to shine brightly so others can step out of darkness and join me in your marvelous light.
