Jeremías 17:9-10
Engañoso es el corazón más que todas las cosas, y perverso; ¿quién lo conocerá? Yo Jehová, que escudriño la mente, que pruebo el corazón, para dar a cada uno según su camino, según el fruto de sus obras.
Hay una frase que escuchamos mucho en canciones, novelas o películas que dice: “sigue lo que dictamina tu corazón”, en la biblia no dice en ningún lugar esta frase, al contrario dice que engañoso es el corazón más que todas las cosas e inclusive lo dice en el evangelio según Mateo:
Mateo 15:19
Porque del corazón salen los malos pensamientos, los homicidios, los adulterios, las fornicaciones, los hurtos, los falsos testimonios, las blasfemias.
El anhelo del rey David fue siempre estar siempre en la presencia de Dios, así lo expresa en la mayoría de los Salmos y él sabía que si había algo mal en su corazón sería un empedimento en su relación con Dios.
Salmos 139:23-24
Examíname, oh Dios, y conoce mi corazón; pruébame y conoce los pensamientos que me inquietan. Señálame cualquier cosa en mí que te ofenda y guíame por el camino de la vida eterna.
Nuestro corazón dictaminará lo que queremos escuchar y nuestro corazón podrá estar contaminado con muchas cosas y patologicamente el corazón es egoista.
Dios nos creó para tener una relación con Él y nuestro corazón fue creado para ser el instrumento que él utilizaría para ser guiados por El Espíritu Santo.
Oración:
Amado Dios, tu palabra dice que engañoso es el corazón del hombre, sin embargo tú conoces aún lo más profundo de él, hoy al igual que el salmista David queremos exponer nuestro corazón delante de tú presencia, y que remuevas de él todo lo que hay opuesto a tu palabra, crea un corazón recto dentro de nosotros para que pueda ser el asiento de tu gloria, en el nombre de Jesús, amén.
Deceptive is the Heart!
Jeremiah 17: 9-10
The heart is deceitful above all things, and wicked; Who will know it? I am the Lord, searching the mind, testing the heart, to give to each one according to his way, according to the fruit of his works.
There is a phrase that we hear a lot in songs, novels or movies that says: “follow what your heart dictates”, in the Bible it does not say this phrase anywhere, on the contrary it says that the heart is deceitful more than all things and even He says it in the Gospel according to Matthew:
Matthew 15:19
Because evil thoughts come from the heart, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.
King David’s desire was to always be in the presence of God, as he expresses it in most of the Psalms and he knew that if there was something wrong in his heart it would be an obstacle in his relationship with God.
Psalm 139: 23-24
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Test me and know the thoughts that disturb me. Point out anything in me that offends you and guide me on the path of eternal life.
Our heart will dictate what we want to hear and our heart may be contaminated with many things and pathologically the heart is selfish.
God created us to have a relationship with Him and our hearts were created to be the instrument that He would use to be led by the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Dear God, your word says that the heart of man is deceitful, however you know even the deepest part of it, today like the psalmist David we want to expose our heart before your presence, and that you remove from it all that is there Opposite to your word, create a righteous heart within us so that it can be the seat of your glory, in Jesus name, amen.
