Enseguida Jesús hizo que los discípulos subieran a la barca y fueran delante de Él a la otra orilla.

Después de alimentar milagrosamente a cinco mil personas con unos pocos panes y unos peces, Jesús envió a sus discípulos a un viaje que los conduciría a una tormenta. El pasaje da a entender que ellos no querían ir, pero Jesús insistió. Muy pronto, los vientos y las olas comenzaron a azotar su barco.
En el mejor de los casos, los discípulos podrían haber pensado que se desviarían de su ruta o que llegarían tarde. En el peor de los casos, habrían temido la muerte. Pero Jesús sabía que necesitaban aprender la importante lección de que Él no solo es el Soberano del viento y del mar, sino también el omnipotente Señor de sus vidas.
Lo mismo es cierto para ti. Jesús tiene un plan para guiarte a través de las tormentas que estás experimentando. También tiene un calendario específico. Sus propósitos son perfectos, aunque no los entiendas ni afecten tus objetivos personales. Pero ten por seguro que Jesús está contigo en las tempestades, más allá de su naturaleza u origen, y que Él tiene un plan divino para sacarte adelante. Y así como los discípulos llegaron exactamente a donde tenían que estar, justo cuando tenían que estar, tú también lo harás.
Oración:
Jesús, enséñame a confiar plenamente en ti en esta tormenta. Amén.
In the Storm
He made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side.
MATTHEW 14:22
After Jesus miraculously fed five thousand people from a few loaves and fishes, He sent the disciples on a journey that would ultimately take them into a storm. The implication in the passage is that they didn’t want to go, but Jesus insisted. Soon enough, the winds and waves began to batter their ship.
At best, the disciples might have thought they were going to be off course or late in their arrival. At worst, they may have feared death. But Jesus knew they needed to learn the important lesson that He is not only the Sovereign over the wind and sea but also the omnipotent Lord of their lives.
The same is true for you. Jesus has a plan for bringing you through the storms you are experiencing. He also has a specific timetable. His purposes are perfect, even when you don’t understand them or they impinge on your personal goals. But be assured that Jesus is with you in the tempests, regardless of their nature or origin, and that He has a divine plan for getting you through. And just as the disciples arrived exactly where they needed to be right when they were supposed to be there, so will you.
Prayer:
Jesus, teach me to trust You completely in this storm. Amen.
