María y Marta le habían pedido a Jesús que acudiera pronto a sanar a Lázaro, pero el Señor tardó en ir. Cuando Cristo llegó, Lázaro llevaba cuatro días en la tumba. No culparíamos a María ni a Marta por ceder al sentimiento de vacío e impotencia que acompaña a la muerte o por preguntarse: «¿Por qué no nos ayudó? ¿Cómo pudo mantenerse alejado cuando sabía lo que estábamos sufriendo?».
Tal vez estas sean algunas de las preguntas que te has hecho al clamar a Dios. Pero Jesús siempre sabe exactamente lo que está pasando. Debemos darnos cuenta de que algunas cosas son tan importantes para Él que vale la pena interrumpir la felicidad y la salud de sus hijos para lograrlas.
Sin embargo, tienes que entender esto: Jesús no está emocionalmente aislado del dolor que estás sufriendo. Más allá de lo que pueda estar realizando o de cuán nobles sean sus propósitos, Él permanece íntimamente en contacto con lo que estás sintiendo. Jesús lloró por Lázaro y también llora contigo. Y si, como María y Marta, continúas confiando en Él, verás su gloria y comprenderás su amoroso cuidado a través de todo lo que permite.

Jesús, gracias por ver mi angustia y por tener siempre buenos propósitos en todo lo que experimento. Amén.
He Knows Your Pain
When Jesus therefore saw her weeping . . . He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled.

Mary and Martha had asked Jesus to come quickly to heal Lazarus, but the Lord delayed in going. By the time Christ got there, Lazarus had been in the tomb four days. We wouldn’t blame Mary and Martha for giving in to the hollow, helpless feeling that accompanies death, or asking, “Why didn’t He help us? How could He stay away when He knew what we were suffering?”
Perhaps these are some of the questions you have asked as you’ve cried out to God. But Jesus always knows exactly what is going on. We must realize that some things are so important to Him that it’s worth interrupting the happiness and health of His children to accomplish them.
But understand this: Jesus is not emotionally isolated from the pain you’re suffering. Regardless of what He may be in the process of accomplishing, or how noble His purposes may be, He remains intimately in touch with what you’re feeling. Jesus wept over Lazarus, and He weeps with you as well. And if, like Mary and Martha, you continue to trust in Him, you’ll see His glory and understand His loving care through all He allows.

Jesus, thank You for seeing my heartbreak and always having a good purpose in all I experience. Amen.
