EL ESPÍRITU DE adicción está profundamente arraigado en la carne. He tratado con personas que simplemente no pueden dejar de fumar. Es difícil para ellos conseguir ser libres del solo hábito de fumar. Ellos hacen todo lo posible para romperlo. Oran. Vienen buscando liberación. Simplemente no pueden romperlo. Es un espíritu tenaz. A veces se sienten frustrados, y el enemigo los condena y les dice: “Tú no eres fuerte”. Pero a veces hay que ayunar cuando usted está tratando de liberarse de un espíritu de adicción, ya que está bien arraigado en la carne. Todas las adicciones operan de maneras similares: las drogas, el alcohol, la gula, los trastornos alimentarios, adicción a la comida. Ellos deben ser rotos a través del ayuno y la oración.

Pero Ana hablaba en su corazón, y solamente se movían sus labios, y su voz no se oía; y Elí la tuvo por ebria. Entonces le dijo Elí: ¿Hasta cuándo estarás ebria? Digiere tu vino. Y Ana le respondió diciendo: No, señor mío; yo soy una mujer atribulada de espíritu; no he bebido vino ni sidra, sino que he derramado mi alma delante de Jehová. No tengas a tu sierva por una mujer impía; porque por la magnitud de mis congojas y de mi aflicción he hablado hasta ahora. —1 SAMUEL 1:13–16
En la versión King James en inglés, el versículo 16 dice y se traduce: “No tengas a tu sierva por una hija de Belial”. Elí había pensado que Ana estaba borracha. El espíritu de Belial opera a través del alcohol y la embriaguez. La embriaguez es una manera de destruir la moral y da paso a la lujuria y perversión en la gente. Yo creo que los espíritus de alcohol y embriaguez operan bajo el hombre fuerte de Belial. Se sabe que muchos hijos de padres alcohólicos son, a menudo, víctimas de abusos sexuales, incluyendo el incesto. El alcohol también puede abrirle la puerta a los espíritus de violación, entre ellos, la “violación por citas” (que es tan frecuente en muchos campus universitarios). Estas son algunas de las oraciones que usted puede orar durante el ayuno para romper el control y echar fuera a estos espíritus de su vida.
ORACIONES CONTRA LA EMBRIAGUEZ Padre, ayúdame a escuchar la advertencia en tu Palabra que miremos “también por vosotros mismos, que vuestros corazones no se carguen de glotonería y embriaguez y de los afanes de esta vida, y venga de repente sobre vosotros aquel día” (Lc. 21:34).
Padre, ayúdame a vivir y a conducirme honorable-mente, que “andemos como de día, honestamente; no en glotonerías y borracheras, no en lujurias y lascivias, no en contiendas y envidia” (Ro. 13:13).
Señor, quiero hacer sólo aquello que tú quieres que yo haga, porque seguir mis propios deseos me conducirá por el mal camino. “Y manifiestas son las obras de la carne, que son: adulterio, fornicación, inmundicia, lascivia, idolatría, hechicerías, enemistades, pleitos, celos, iras, contiendas, disensiones, herejías, envidias, homicidios, borracheras, orgías y cosas semejantes a estas; acerca de las cuales os amonesto, como ya os lo he dicho antes, que los que practican tales cosas no heredarán el reino de Dios” (Gl. 5:19–21).
Yo no quiero vivir así Señor, yo quiero honrarte y servirte a ti en todo lo que hago.
Padre, tú das buen consejo en tu Palabra, consejo que quiero seguir: “Oye, hijo mío, y sé sabio, y endereza tu corazón al camino. No estés con los bebedores de vino, ni con los comedores de carne; porque el bebedor y el comilón empobrecerán, y el sueño hará vestir vestidos rotos” (Pr. 23:19–21).
Padre, tu Palabra advierte que sea cuidadoso con el tipo de personas con las que ando. Ayúdame a prestar atención a tu consejo de “no asociarme con ninguno que, llamándose hermano, sea sexual, inmoral o avaro, idólatra, o maldiciente, borracho o ladrón” (1 Co. 5:11).
Ayúdame a escoger sabiamente a mis amistades. Padre, yo no quiero “embriagarme con vino, en lo cual hay disolución.” Quiero ser “lleno del Espíritu” (Ef. 5:18).
The fast that frees you from drug and alcohol addiction
Do not get drunk with wine, in which there is dissolution; Rather, be filled with the Spirit. —EPHESIANS 5:18
THE SPIRIT OF addiction is deeply ingrained in the flesh. I have dealt with people who simply cannot quit smoking. It is difficult for them to get rid of just smoking. They do their best to break it. They pray. They come seeking deliverance. They just can’t break it. It is a tenacious spirit. Sometimes they feel frustrated, and the enemy condemns them and says: “You are not strong.” But sometimes you have to fast when you are trying to free yourself from a spirit of addiction, as it is well ingrained in the flesh. All addictions operate in similar ways: drugs, alcohol, gluttony, eating disorders, food addiction. They must be broken through fasting and prayer.
ADDICTION IS CONNECTED TO THE SPIRIT OF BELIAL
But Ana spoke in her heart, and only her lips moved, and her voice was not heard; and Eli thought she was drunk. Then she said to him Eli: How long will you be drunk? Digest your wine. And Ana answered him saying: No, my lord; I am a troubled woman of spirit; I have not drunk wine or strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. Do not count your servant for an impious woman; because of the magnitude of my anguish and my affliction I have spoken until now. —1 SAMUEL 1: 13-16
In the King James Version, verse 16 says and is translated, “Do not count your handmaid for a daughter of Belial.” Eli had thought Ana was drunk. Belial’s spirit operates through alcohol and drunkenness. Drunkenness is a way of destroying morale and gives way to lust and perversion in people. I believe that the spirits of alcohol and intoxication operate under the strong man of Belial. It is known that many children of alcoholic parents are often victims of sexual abuse, including incest. Alcohol can also open the door to spirits of rape, including “date rape” (which is so prevalent on many college campuses). These are some of the prayers that you can pray during the fast to break the grip and cast these spirits out of your life.
PRAYERS AGAINST DRUNKENESS Father, help me to listen to the warning in your Word that we look “also for yourselves, that your hearts are not loaded with gluttony and drunkenness and the cares of this life, and that day suddenly come upon you” ( Luke 21:34).
Father, help me to live and conduct myself honorably, that “we walk honestly like day; not in gluttony and drunkenness, not in lust and lust, not in strife and envy ”(Rom. 13:13).
Lord, I want to do only what You want me to do, because following my own wishes will lead me astray. And manifest are the works of the flesh, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, witchcraft, enmities, lawsuits, jealousies, anger, strife, dissensions, heresies, envy, murder, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. these; about which I warn you, as I have told you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God ”(Gal. 5: 19–21).
I don’t want to live like this Lord, I want to honor You and serve You in everything I do.
Father, you give good advice in your Word, advice I want to follow: “Hey, my son, and be wise, and set your heart straight for the road. Do not be with the wine drinkers, nor with the meat eaters; for the drunkard and the glutton will become poor, and sleep will make them wear torn clothing ”(Prov. 23: 19–21).
Father, your Word advises me to be careful with the kind of people I hang out with. Help me to heed your advice to “not associate with anyone who, calling himself a brother, is sexual, immoral or greedy, idolatrous, or cursing, drunkard or thief” (1 Cor. 5:11).
Help me choose my friends wisely. Father, I do not want to “get drunk with wine, in which there is dissolution.” I want to be “filled with the Spirit” (Eph. 5:18).
