Y te acordarás de todo el camino por donde te ha traído Jehová tu Dios estos cuarenta años en el desierto, para afligirte, para probarte, para saber lo que había en tu corazón, si habías de guardar o no sus mandamientos. Y te afligió, y te hizo tener hambre, y te sustentó con maná, comida que no conocías tú, ni tus padres la habían conocido, para hacerte saber que no sólo de pan vivirá el hombre, más de todo lo que sale de la boca de Jehová vivirá el hombre. Tu vestido nunca se envejeció sobre ti, ni el pie se te ha hinchado en estos cuarenta años. —DEUTERONOMIO 8:2–4
JESÚS AYUNÓ CUARENTA días en el desierto. Israel estuvo en el desierto por cuarenta años. Jesús es el verdadero Israel de Dios. A Israel se le permitió tener hambre por cuarenta años. Dios los alimentó con maná y los hizo sufrir de hambre, para humillarlos y enseñarles que no sólo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de cada palabra que procede de la boca del Señor. El ayuno traerá gran humildad a su vida, y ayunar le ayudará a entender que no sólo de pan usted vive, sino de toda palabra que procede de la boca de Dios. Cuando usted ayuna está diciendo: “Yo vivo por la palabra de Dios. La palabra de Dios es mi fortaleza. El Señor es la fortaleza de mi vida”. La palabra profética es una palabra de procedimiento. Ayunar nos pone en una posición para recibir esa palabra de procedimiento y vivir por ella. Ayunar le ayudará a liberar la palabra de procedimiento. Dios puede poner sus palabras en su boca para que usted las hable y las libere. En el verso arriba mencionado leemos que sus vestidos nunca envejecieron. El ayuno nos ayuda a mantener nuestros vestidos frescos y nuevos. El vestido es una prenda de vestir. Las prendas de vestir se pueden envejecer con la religión y la tradición. Podemos también ver en este pasaje que sus pies no se hincharon. Los “pies” representan su caminar con el Señor, su crecimiento espiritual y su jornada hacia la madurez con Él, y su habilidad para oír su dirección para su vida y seguirle. El ayuno le ayudará a mantener su caminar para no ser obstaculizado.
EL AYUNO RESULTARÁ EN LA ORACIÓN CONTESTADA Entonces invocarás, y te oirá Jehová; clamarás, y dirá él: Heme aquí. —ISAÍAS 58:9
La interferencia demoniaca causa que muchas oraciones sean obstaculizadas. Daniel ayunó veintiún días para abrirse paso a través de la resistencia demoniaca y recibir respuesta a sus oraciones. (Vea Daniel 10.) El príncipe de Persia retuvo la respuesta por veintiún días. El ayuno de Daniel ayudó a que el ángel se abriera paso y llegara con la respuesta. El ayuno causará que la contestación a muchas oraciones sea acelerada. Eso incluye oraciones para salvación y liberación por los seres amados. El ayuno ayuda a romper la frustración de una oración no contestada.
EL AYUNO LIBERA LA GUÍA DIVINA
Jehová te pastoreará siempre, y en las sequías saciará tu alma, y dará vigor a tus huesos; y serás como huerto de riego, y como manantial de aguas, cuyas aguas nunca faltan. —ISAÍAS 58:11
Muchos creyentes tienen dificultad en tomar decisiones correctas concernientes a relaciones, finanzas y ministerio. Esto causa retrocesos y pérdida de tiempo por necias decisiones. El ayuno ayudará a los creyentes a tomar decisiones correctas al liberar la guía divina. El ayuno elimina la confusión. El ayuno produce claridad y libera el entendimiento y la sabiduría para tomar decisiones correctas. El ayuno es recomendable para aquellos que están tomando decisiones importantes tales como el matrimonio y opciones ministeriales.
ORACIONES PARA OBTENER REVELACIÓN
Tú eres el Dios que revelas los secretos. Señor, revélame tus secretos (Dn. 2:28).
Revélame el secreto y las cosas profundas (Dn. 2:22).
Permíteme entender las cosas y los secretos guardados desde la fundación del mundo (Mt. 13:35).
Permite que los sellos de tu Palabra se rompan (Dn. 12:9).
Permíteme entender y tener revelación de tu voluntad y propósito para mi vida. Dame espíritu de sabiduría y revelación, y permite que los ojos de mi entendimiento sean iluminados (Ef. 1:17).
Permíteme entender las cosas celestiales (Jn. 3:12).
Abre mis ojos y miraré las maravillas de tu Palabra (Sal. 119:18). Dame a conocer y entender los misterios del reino (Mr. 4:11).
The fast to hear and receive a word from the Lord
And you will remember all the way that Jehovah your God has brought you these forty years in the desert, to afflict you, to test you, to know what was in your heart, whether or not you should keep his commandments. And it afflicted you, and made you hungry, and fed you with manna, food that you did not know, nor your parents had known, to let you know that man will not live on bread alone, more than everything that comes out of the mouth of the Lord shall man live. Your dress has never aged on you, nor has your foot swelled in these forty years. —DEUTERONOMY 8: 2–4
JESUS FASTED FORTY DAYS in the desert. Israel was in the desert for forty years. Jesus is the true Israel of God. Israel was allowed to go hungry for forty years. God fed them with manna and made them suffer from hunger, to humble them and teach them that not only will man live on bread, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Fasting will bring great humility into his life, and fasting will help him understand that you live not by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. When you fast you are saying, “I live by the word of God. The word of God is my strength. The Lord is the strength of my life ”. The prophetic word is a procedural word. Fasting puts us in a position to receive that procedural word and live by it. Fasting will help you release the procedural word. God can put His words in your mouth for you to speak and release. In the above mentioned verse we read that their clothes never got old. Fasting helps us keep our clothes fresh and new. The dress is a garment. Garments can be aged with religion and tradition. We can also see from this passage that his feet did not swell. The “feet” represent your walk with the Lord, your spiritual growth and journey to maturity with Him, and your ability to hear and follow his direction for your life. Fasting will help you maintain your walk so that you are not hindered.
FASTING WILL RESULT IN AN ANSWERED PRAYER
Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry, and he will say: Here I am. —ISAIAH 58: 9
Demonic interference causes many prayers to be hampered. Daniel fasted for twenty-one days to break through the demonic resistance and receive answers to his prayers. (See Daniel 10.) The prince of Persia withheld the answer for twenty-one days. Daniel’s fast helped the angel break through and come up with the answer. Fasting will cause the answer to many prayers to be hastened. That includes prayers for salvation and deliverance for loved ones. Fasting helps break the frustration of unanswered prayer.
FASTING RELEASES DIVINE GUIDANCE
The Lord will always guide you, and in drought he will satisfy your soul, and he will give strength to your bones; and you will be like an irrigated garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters never fail. —ISAIAH 58:11
Many believers have difficulty making correct decisions regarding relationships, finances, and ministry. This causes setbacks and wasted time due to foolish decisions. Fasting will help believers make correct decisions by releasing divine guidance. Fasting eliminates confusion. Fasting produces clarity and frees understanding and wisdom to make correct decisions. Fasting is recommended for those who are making important decisions such as marriage and ministerial choices.
PRAYERS TO OBTAIN REVELATION
You are the God who reveals the secrets. Lord, reveal your secrets to me (Dan. 2:28).
Reveal to me the secret and the deep things (Dan. 2:22).
Let me understand the things and the secrets kept since the foundation of the world (Mt. 13:35).
Allow the seals of your Word to break (Dan. 12: 9).
Allow me to understand and have revelation of your will and purpose for my life. Give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation, and let the eyes of my understanding be enlightened (Eph. 1:17).
Let me understand heavenly things (John 3:12).
Open my eyes and I will see the wonders of your Word (Ps. 119: 18). Let me know and understand the mysteries of the kingdom (Mark 4:11).
