Deuteronomio 7:9
Conoce, pues, que Jehová tu Dios es Dios, Dios fiel, que guarda el pacto y la misericordia a los que le aman y guardan sus mandamientos, hasta mil generaciones.
Como seres humanos estamos muy familiarizados con el incumplimiento de la Palabra, es por eso que se hacen contratos escritos, pero aún estos se quiebran y es necesario ir a juicio por el incumplimiento de la palabra de alguien. Somos muy conscientes de la fragilidad de nuestras palabras y como bien reza, un conocido refrán: “ las palabras se las lleva el viento”. Si quieres pasar un rato divertido, o llorar, vas a youtube y pon promesa sin cumplir o mentiras de los políticos, y tienes allí mucho material para pasar el rato. Pero más complicado es cuando somos nosotros mismo los que sufrimos la ruptura de promesas por parte del otro. A veces, sufrimos la inconsistencia de las promesas de los otros, algunas sin demasiada gravedad, como recoger la habitación de los hijos, otras acerca de la ayuda que nos iban a brindar, otras acerca de la confidencialidad sobre algún asunto privado, y otras más graves como la de los votos, té seré fiel hasta la muerte. Todos hemos sufrido y experimentado esta clase de dolor. Pero, aún duele mucho más reconocer y experimentar nuestro propio fracaso en las palabras, cuantas veces no hemos faltado a nuestra palabra delante de los hombres, cuantas veces no hemos faltado a nuestra propia palabra, promesas dichas a nosotros mismos, voy a hacer esto. Pero, sin duda alguna lo que más nos duele, son nuestras propias promesas incumplidas a Dios. No hay nada tan humillante y tan real como repasar las propias promesas que hemos hecho delante de Dios. Señor te prometo que nunca más voy a ver pornografía, si me perdonas, está es la última vez que voy a hablar mal de alguien, ya nunca más voy a mentir, ni a burlarme del otro, es la última vez que crítico, Señor ahora si, a partir de hoy voy a tener un devocional contigo, porque no puedo seguir viviendo así.
Esta es nuestra realidad, lo que nosotros hacemos pero Dios no es así.
Pero él sabe que nosotros fallamos, por eso cuando el decide hacer un pacto o darnos una promesa, la cumple.
Dios actúa para cumplir su Palabra, obra en medio de su mundo, es la acción divina en el mundo la que va a hacer cumplir su Palabra. Es decir, no sólo su palabra es confiable porque Él no miente, sino porque Él se encarga de hacerla cumplir. Él no tiene ningún problema en actuar es su mundo. Es suyo. Y no tiene problema tampoco en usar ningún medio. Ya sean los que consideramos naturales, cuando Dios actúa según las leyes que él ha establecido. Ya sea, cuando usa los medios que llamamos espirituales, la oración, la Palabra, la iglesia, etc. O ya sea que Dios use los medios que denominamos milagrosos, que son aquellas situaciones en las que Dios irrumpe en este mundo de manera distinta, palpable y evidente a como lo suele hacer. Estos versículos narran el cumplimiento de un milagro. Abraham y Sara han concebido de manera milagrosa. Dios ha hecho algo que de otra manera no hubiera podido suceder. Dios ha intervenido, ha hecho un milagro.
Dios no se mueve acausa de nuestros sentimientos y emociones.
Números 23:19
Dios no es hombre, para que mienta, Ni hijo de hombre para que se arrepienta. Él dijo, ¿y no hará? Habló, ¿y no lo ejecutará?
Asi su promesa tome un tiempo en cumplirse, El lo hará, debemos tener la certeza que asi sucederá.
Habacuc 2:3
Aunque la visión tardará aún por un tiempo, mas se apresura hacia el fin, y no mentirá; aunque tardare, espéralo, porque sin duda vendrá, no tardará.
Oración:
Dios de Pacto eres tu nuestro Señor, todo lo llevas a cumplimiento y no rompes ninguno, tu eres la fuente de justicia como la misericordia y aunque nosotros fallemos nos sostienes con tu pacto y afirmas nuestras vidas en tu verdad por eso te creemos gran Rey que todo lo que has dicho de nosotros se cumplirá, aunque aun no lo veamos cumplirse pronto llegará, en el nombre de Jesús, ¡Amen!
God Establishes His Covenant
Deuteronomy 7: 9
Know then that Jehovah your God is God, a faithful God, who keeps covenant and mercy to those who love Him and keep His commandments, up to a thousand generations.
As human beings we are very familiar with the breach of the Word, that is why written contracts are made, but even these are broken and it is necessary to go to trial for the breach of someone’s word. We are very aware of the fragility of our words and, as is well known, a well-known saying: “the words are carried by the wind”. If you want to have a fun time, or cry, you go to YouTube and put an unfulfilled promise or lies from politicians, and you have a lot of material there to pass the time. But more complicated is when we ourselves are the ones who suffer the breaking of promises by the other. Sometimes, we suffer the inconsistency of the promises of others, some without too much gravity, such as cleaning the children’s room, others about the help that they were going to give us, others about confidentiality on some private matter, and still others grave as vows, I will be faithful to you until death. We have all suffered and experienced this kind of pain. But, it still hurts much more to recognize and experience our own failure in words, how many times we have not broken our word in front of men, how many times we have not broken our own word, promises made to ourselves, I am going to do this. But, without a doubt, what hurts us the most are our own broken promises to God. There is nothing so humbling and so real as reviewing the own promises that we have made before God. Lord I promise you that I will never see pornography again, if you forgive me, this is the last time that I will speak ill of someone, I will never lie again, or make fun of the other, it is the last time I criticize, Lord now Yes, as of today I am going to have a devotional with You, because I cannot continue living like this.
This is our reality, what we do but God is not like that.
But He knows that we fail, so when He decides to make a pact or give us a promise, He keeps it.
God acts to fulfill His Word, He works in the midst of His world, it is divine action in the world that will enforce His Word. That is to say, not only is His word reliable because He does not lie, but because He is in charge of enforcing it. He has no problem acting in His world. It’s yours. And He has no problem using any medium either. Whether they are what we consider natural, when God acts according to the laws that He has established. Whether, when He uses the means that we call spiritual, prayer, the Word, the church, etc. Or whether God uses the means that we call miraculous, which are those situations in which God bursts into this world in a different, palpable and evident way than He usually does. These verses narrate the accomplishment of a miracle. Abraham and Sarah have miraculously conceived. God has done something that could not have happened otherwise. God has intervened, He has performed a miracle.
God does not move because of our feelings and emotions.
Numbers 23:19
God is not a man for Him to lie, nor a son of man for Him to repent. He said, and won’t He? He spoke, and will He not execute it?
Even if His promise takes a while to fulfill, He will do it, we must have the certainty that it will happen.
Habakkuk 2: 3
Though the vision will linger for a while yet, but it hastens to the end, and will not lie; Although it will take time, wait for it, because without a doubt it will come, it will not take long
Prayer:
God of Covenant You are our Lord, You carry everything to fulfillment and You do not break any, You are the source of justice as mercy and even if we fail You sustain us with Your pact and affirm our lives in Your truth that is why we believe Uou great King who Everything You have said about us will be fulfilled, although we still do not see it fulfilled, it will soon come, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
