No caigamos en la trampa de creer que el ministerio es nuestro trabajo para el Señor. La verdad es que ni siquiera podemos vivir «cristianamente» por nuestra cuenta, menos aún influir en el Reino de Dios. Aunque quisiéramos dar auténtica honra al Señor, en nuestras propias fuerzas seguiremos volviendo a los malos hábitos, sin alcanzar todo lo que Dios tiene para nosotros. Si nos sentimos totalmente impotentes para cambiar nuestros corazones y las situaciones que vivimos, ¿cómo podemos esperar cambiar el corazón y la situación de alguien más?
Pero la buena noticia es que no fuimos creados para vivir la vida cristiana ni ministrar a otros en nuestras propias fuerzas. La verdadera vida cristiana no se halla tanto en que vivamos para Jesús, sino en que Jesús viva a través de nosotros, y en consecuencia recibimos el poder para hacer la obra que solo Él puede hacer.
Amigo lector, Dios lo ha elegido para el servicio a fin de que Él pueda hacer brillar su poder a través de su vida, de modo que cuando la obra se logre las personas no lo miren a usted sino al Señor. Por tanto, no se desespere respecto a sus insuficiencias; más bien, sométase a Él y regocíjese en que la gloria de Dios brille por medio suyo.
Oración:
Jesús, gracias porque el ministerio no depende de mí, sino de ti que obras a través de mí para tu gloria. Amén.
HIM THROUGH YOU
“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 CORINTHIANS 12:9
Never fall into the trap of thinking of ministry as your work for the Lord. The truth is that we’re not even able to live the Christian life on our own—never mind make an impact for the kingdom of God. Even though we may genuinely want to honor the Lord, no matter how diligently we try in our own strength, we’ll keep slipping back into bad habits and fall short of all He has for us. If we feel completely helpless to change our own hearts and situations, how can we hope to change anyone else’s?
But the good news is that you were never meant to live the Christian life or do ministry in your own strength. The true Christian life is not so much that you live for Jesus. Rather, the Christian life is Jesus living through you, and you are thus empowered to do the work only He can do.
Friend, God has chosen you for the service before you so He can shine His power through you—so that when the work is accomplished, people won’t look to you, they will look to Him. So do not despair about your inadequacies; rather, submit to Him and rejoice that His glory shines through you.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You that ministry isn’t dependent on me but on You working through me for Your glory. Amen.
